Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful 1951 Packard 200 powered by the super dependable and smooth running straight 8 cylinder engine. It has the Ultramatic transmission without overdrive. It has a 6volt elect system. The car runs perfectly and drives great, it is a real joy to drive. I have only driven the car around town but I can tell you everything works fine. I have had the car up to 65 mph without any problems whatsoever. This car would be an easy restoration or drive it the way it is. It gets alot of attention where ever it goes. While driving, the temp gauge stays in the normal range. The interior appears to be original but that is only a guess. I do not have any documentation showing a redo. The car has manual steering and brakes. All the lights work. The gauges appear to function normally. Windshield wipers work. Heater works. The radio works along with the power antenna. New parts include, exhaust system, front shocks, front kingpins, sway-bar bushings, This car has an excellent documented history. The engine was rebuilt in 2001 and the transmission was rebuilt in 2007, about 200 miles ago, all with supporting documentation. I have the original owners guide and Packard Accessory pamphlet. I also have what appears to be the original purchase order for the car, the document is in a plastic bag and has deteriorated making it hard to read. I have all receipts for parts purchased and registration paperwork from the various owners. Now for the bad news, *The paint while good, is not perfect. There are a few scratches but nothing major. There is also a few spots of the paint bubbling but does not appear to be serious rust. *I believe the rear brake wheel cylinders to be bad, based on the previous owners inspection documentation. The brakes do feel spongy somewhat. I do not see any brake fluid leaking though. Kanter sells them for 37.00 a piece. * The trunk floor has a small hole rusted though behind the left rear wheel well.. I have included a picture of that. * There is a tiny hole in the drives window. Perhaps from a BB gun. * The engine does have a small leak. The rear axle pinion seal seeps also. Nothing major. * The front chrome bumper has two cracks in it, it appears that the hood was slammed shut with excessive force causing the cracks. * It could benefit from a wheel alignment as the steering wheel is not perfectly centered while driving straight. * Tire tread is good however somewhat weather checked. I probably would not attempt a cross country trip with them. * Some of the wiring under the hood should be replaced, the cloth insulation is deteriorated and missing in some places. * Horn inop. * The chrome while solid, does have scratches on it. I have tried my best to accurately describe this automobile, however there may be things that I am unaware of or did not notice. I am not a Packard expert but I have done limited research on the car. This car is not sold with a warranty. I ask you to please contact me with any questions. I can send more pictures if requested. I reserve the right to end the auction to sell locally.
