1971 Triumph Bonneville

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for Auction is a beautiful Red 1971 650 Bonneville. I purchased this bike from a local motorcycle dealer in 1997. The dealer had redone the motor over the winter and it runs great. I put just over 1,000 miles on it and it has been in storage since 2000. The numbers match and the title is clear. The straight pipes make the already great Triumph sound even better. The engine is so tight that it started on 4th kick after sitting several years. I have had several Triumphs and this is the only one that does not leak any oil (you can always use an oil can to give it the Limey look). The amal carbs are in excellent shape - idles and runs great. The engine is solid without any extraneous internal sounds. The inside of the tank is like new, the speedometer and tack work as designed. Obviously this not look from the factory, the last owner choose a "hill climber" look and did a great job. The straight pipes, oversized rear tire, large tank and small seat work together to make this an eye catcher. This bike is sold as is but the only points that I am aware of is a slightly sticky clutch, chrome (headlight and wheels) is in good but not new shape, the frame is scratched where the keys dangled while riding (see picture - covered by black duct tape). I would prefer to sell this bike to local bidder so they can see and hear what they are buying. I will, however, work with a winning bidders transport company. There is a very reasonable reserve on this, a Paypal deposit of $500 will be due with 48 hours of winning the auction with the balance due 7 days for end of auction.
