chevelle ss 396 ,needs total restoration,almost black type midnight blue original color with white ss stripes,black vinyl roof,power steering, power disc brakes,4 speed bucket seat model,appears to have orig 12 bolt posi rear and 4 speed muncie m21 appears to be orig trans,no shifter.comes with CE engine block this block was in car when I bought the car it is a warranty or over the counter block as it has no vin just the ce designation and some date numbers that make it a few years newer than the car.I dont know if this block is good or not it has some pitting in one cylinder maybe bore it or sleve it. it is the block disassembled with no heads only.rusted out under front and rear glass,also rusted quarter panels and lower fenders floors have some surface rust but no big holes,all panels can now be replaced by after market companies like dynacorn.appears to have orig sheet metal with vins so no heavy collision damage .missing stainless that goes around lower vinyl roof.ca title in my name. no scammers,no monkey business.On May-05-11 at 18:29:18 PDT, seller added the following information: comes with new gas tank,fire wall plate is as follows..first line-05b 7235 second line-st-681387 kan 14160 third line-tr-766-178 -color E2...rear end numbers say KF0425B this car has one gas line that is large and this is a indication that it was a 375 hp car although I cannot swear to it .by the way the CE block that was in the car was a 2 bolt main.the 4 speed muncie numbers are right side above patent says 3925660 rearward of that and sideways is p8d09e on the top left is 18k206955 on the tag hanging from the cover bolt is3924706 the input shaft has one ring so m21 I beleive.took cover off and looks good to me and shifts into all gears but I would not install with out closer inspection and rebuild kit installed as it is old and unused for many years.I have a used package tray if you want it but it is not in the greatest shape,On May-05-11 at 22:54:54 PDT, seller added the following information: I have done some checking on the rear end numbers and as far as I can tell the kf=355 posi large ring-0425=april 25-B=buffalo.this car also has the rare buick interior wich was considered more plush then the standard chevy interior,of course you have to redo it all but the rear seats and side arm rests are there as they were shaped different then the standard interior.sorry no rolling tach,but the hood and deck lid are in pretty nice shape.the old power steering pump is included also.On May-06-11 at 18:20:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I have posted pics of the gas line under the car and comeing out of the frame you decide if its a 375 or not,as I have stated I dont know,also pic of the frame where the steering box bolts on as this is rusted out on some frames but this one looks good.On May-07-11 at 17:13:09 PDT, seller added the following information: what you see is what you get there is no radio etc, all mldgs are not there but you know you can replace them reasonably from aftermarket.you will get the unused gas tank and used package tray if you want also the CE-two bolt bare bloc kwith numbers-CE062790 and casting 3969854 with the questionable cylinder. you will also get the drive shaft and crossmember,and I will throw in the alternator I took off of it I think its a 1968 the #say-1100794 37A - 8c15.On May-08-11 at 13:13:53 PDT, seller added the following information: done some more checking and trans #p8d09e checks out to be a 1968 also on cowl tag interior#766 checks out as black with buckets and the color #E2 is the dark fathom blue,..also for those that are trying to figure out if this was a 375 HP or not,I did remove the large rectangle hi performance heads from the block that was in the car these heads are NOT PART of this auction and are NOT FOR SALE at this time .one of them had a date of -f-19-8 and 3964291-this would make it a 1968 head I dont know if they were swapped over from the orig engine or not,just giving you all the info to help you decide. the other head has a older then 68 date code.again heads are NOT included or part of auction.
