But for a few occasional uses, the car has been sitting in my heated garage on a trickle charger. If you would like for me to take any other pictures of specific parts of the car, please just ask. Background, Description and Condition If you’re not that familiar with this model, Edmunds.com has a brief review available online here: http://www.edmunds.com/audi/a8/2007/#fullreview. I bought this sedan as the second owner from Audi of Bernardsville in Bernardsville, NJ as an Audi Certified Pre-Owned car in late April of 2010, for use as the family people-mover, primarily for going to and from NYC and Cape Cod. The original sticker price when the car was new in 2007 was well in excess of $90,000; I paid just under $47,000 (not including taxes, etc.) to Audi of Bernardsville in April of last year. This vehicle has performed flawlessly for us, almost exclusively on long highway trips (we drive about 600 miles round trip every other week). Although we truly love driving it, we have a toddler and a small dog, and now another child on the way, so it just won’t work for us. We already have several other cars and SUVs, making the Audi a truly unused spare car for us. As you can see from the photographs, the car is in excellent cosmetic condition, with two small exceptions: a weird bulge in the mid-right side of the chin bodywork under the grille (has been there since I first saw the car) and a little bit of curb rash on the rear wheels (not shown in the photos). The rear bumper was scraped by somebody else and repainted under our insurance (total cost ~$365); it now looks like new. I don’t think this has shown up on CarFax or Experian, but I disclose it here, as I don’t want to create any surprises. Other than that, this car has never suffered any accident or collision damage. This vehicle is mechanically in perfect condition and has been maintained “by the book” by Audi technicians at a full-service Audi dealership. I have all of the records, receipts and paperwork for the vehicle since I purchased it. The car was still covered under it’s original factory warranty when I purchased it in April 2010, but the original warranty was set to expire on December 20, 2010, so I purchased an Audi Pure Protection Platinum extended warranty through my local Audi dealer before that date; this extended warranty is accepted at any authorized Audi dealer, and is transferable to a new owner for a $100 fee. (The Audi Certified Pre-Owned warranty extension that I received when I purchased the car is unfortunately not transferable to a third party.) This Audi has been stored in my heated garage when not in use, and as you can tell from the photos I take very good care of it (any everything else I own). The buyer of this car will continue to benefit from: · the newly-purchased Audi Pure Protection extended warranty Platinum level coverage - good until December 2012 or for up to 24,000 additional miles, whichever comes first · the remainder of the Audi factory rust perforation limited warranty and any other warranties that came with the car from Audi, all from the original in-service date of December 2006. Transaction Details I have the bill of sale from my purchase, all service records and receipts, but the title is held by Audi Financial Services, as the car is financed through them. The car is parked in my garage on Cape Cod (zip code 02645; map is here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=02645&ie=UTF8&z=13&output=html&zoom=9&zp=L ), and is available for inspection in person for serious buyers. I have kept the registration and insurance coverage active and there are still MA license plates on the car now, but it is parked in my garage, awaiting sale we are no longer driving it. For someone who is VERY serious (i.e., someone who has put down a deposit), I would be willing to drive the car to NYC or Boston to allow an in-person inspection. Although the car is under warranty, I would be willing to allow a pre-purchase inspection for a serious buyer as well. The car is financed via Audi Financial Services, and they have physical possession of the title. AFS will release their lien and send a clear title to the ultimate purchaser (or to his or her financing bank) once the AFS loan to me has been repaid, so the simplest process is probably to arrange to have the buyer’s financial institution make a portion of the final payment directly to Audi Financial Services to pay off the loan, upon which Audi Financial Services will send the clear title to the buyer (or the buyer’s financial institution). See below for further information. Price I’ve listed this vehicle as a no-reserve auction starting at $36,850, which I think is an excellent value, given its great condition and low mileage and the Audi Pure Protection extended warranty. This is Audi’s flagship car, with an original MSRP of probably $92,000-$93,000 or more back in 2007. As I wrote above, I paid just under $47,000 for the car last April, and then I paid another $2,500 to buy the extended warranty for the benefit of the next owner (all before including sales taxes, excise taxes, etc. So, at my opening price I’ll be taking a pretty big loss on this round trip. I’m obviously hoping that the auction will generate more than one bid, so that the price goes higher than this starting point, but we’re not driving the car any more, and we need the space in our garage, so we’ll take the loss and move on if we have to. For what it's worth, Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book have substantially higher value estimates for this car in “Certified Pre Owned” condition (which is equivalent, in my opinion, given the extended warranty). Please feel free to re-run these analyses yourself at http://www.edmunds.com/ and http://www.kbb.com/, respectively. Please contact me via eBay’s “Contact the Seller” feature if you have other questions regarding the car; either way thanks for looking. - Nick P.S. See my note below about scammers, etc. If you see this car listed somewhere else (e.g., AutoTrader.com, Cars.com, whatever), please DON’T BID ON IT THERE…that’s a scammer trying to fraudulently get your money. This car is ONLY listed here on eBay.) About the Auction, Bidding and Shipping/Delivery Please only place a bid/make an offer if you truly want to own this vehicle. A winning bid enters you into a binding legal contract. Please make sure that you have read the eBay User Agreement before you place a bid. If you have any questions, please contact me through the eBay “Contact the Seller” feature before bidding. Sadly, I must reserve the right to decline or cancel any bids from bidders with negative feedback. If you have no feedback or negative feedback, please contact me directly before you bid. I also reserve the right to end the auction early at my discretion, and to cancel the auction and re-list the vehicle if any nonsense occurs. Of course, taxes, registration, insurance, etc. are the responsibility of the buyer. I would be willing to work with the buyer to facilitate a long-distance purchase. I would also be willing to deliver the car within a reasonable distance (150 miles? 250 miles?) by driving it there, once payment has been made. Finally, as I did once before for a long-distance buyer of another vehicle, I would be willing to use my American Airlines frequent flier miles to fly the winning bidder to Boston, MA or New York City to take possession of the car, once payment has been made. Payment Terms A $500 deposit must be received from the winning bidder within 24 hours of the close of the auction or acceptance of a winning bid, and full payment must be received in cash, via wire transfer or other certified funds within 10 days. Acceptable forms of payment for the deposit are PayPal, wire transfer or cash. For the balance, a wire transfer, cashier’s/certified check or cash are the only acceptable forms of payment. As mentioned above, it may make sense from your end to have part of your purchase price sent directly to Audi Financial Services to pay off the existing loan I’m happy to help facilitate this. If you plan to use a cashier’s/certified check, I will require a faxed or emailed copy of the check document itself and bank contact information prior to delivery, so that I can verify with the issuing bank that the check is legitimate. If you are financing this purchase, you must be pre-approved and ready to deliver the purchase price in an acceptable form before the end of the auction to bid. Please email me in advance to make sure that any individual concerns you may have are satisfied before bidding. A Parting Note Among my largest eBay transactions over the past few years, I have sold a $50,000 BMW X5 SUV, a $40,000 GMC 2500HD pickup truck, a $30,000 Ford F350 pickup truck, a $15,000 Lexus IS300 car, a nearly-new Honda CBR1100XX motorcycle, a 1-year old Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle, a 1-year old Kawasaki ZX-6R motorcycle, a 3-year old BMW K1200RS motorcycle, and a $14,000 pair of like-new Yamaha Waverunners, all to satisfied bidders; I also purchased the BMW motorcycle on eBay as well. I have a 100% feedback rating on all of my transactions because of the way that I do business, and I fully intend to keep it that way. I understand and respect the need for honest and fair dealing (see my feedback comments), and I expect the same from bidders in my eBay auctions. So, if you’re a scammer, phisher, spoofer, ID thief or flake, please try your luck somewhere else. I’ve been doing business on eBay for many years, and I’ve seen just about every scam attempt there is. There is simply no way that the car is leaving my possession without the funds in my hands. Period. If you really are from Moscow, or Nigeria, or Albania, or Trinidad, or the moon, then (a) I’m not sure why you’re trying to buy an Audi A8L from someone in the US, and (b) you need to figure out the logistics as to how you would plan to get funds certain to me and then take possession of the car, in that order. Thanks for your time.
