Vehicle Detail
1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate I bought this beautiful green and silver machine brand new from the Honda dealer, with the intention of taking lots of trips all over California, and beyond. Unfortunately, I ended up mostly just being an occasional “weekend warrior” on it, and also only using it to get to work and back. And for the last couple of years, I’ve been dealing with neck and back injuries, so I’ve hardly been riding it at all. And, as a result, this baby has less than 6,000 miles on it! I just picked it up from the Honda dealer where I had it fully serviced (including having the carbs cleaned, which was NOT cheap), and I had two brand new tires put on it as well. So she’s running like new, and ready to be ridden cross-country right now, if you’re so inclined. I’ve kept this beautiful motorcycle mostly stock. However, I did install the driver’s backrest, chrome highway pegs, a manual-lock cruise control, wind deflectors, and air horns, which are hidden underneath the bike. (I wanted the bike’s horn power to match the awesomeness of the bike itself! See pics.) I also installed two rear speakers for the stock AM/FM radio that comes with this cruiser. (The 1999 Interstate model sold brand new with only the front two speakers mounted in the fairing, and only the rear speaker covers, but no actual rear speakers inside, if you can believe that.) I also installed a slightly taller windshield, but I still have the stock windshield available to whoever buys this very clean machine. I will also include a battery trickle charger (which I have set up to very easily attach to this bike’s battery without having to remove anything in order to get to the battery itself). ***Note: I replaced the battery only about a year ago, so it’s got plenty of life left in it. There are only a couple of very minor scuffs and scratches on this baby, and one very small spot about the size of a bb, (you know, for a bb gun ) that needs a drop of touch-up paint on the right-side saddle bag lid. I took a picture of it. I also noticed (and took a picture of it) that the radiator grill screen is rusted, and should probably be replaced. (I just now priced this item on eBay, and the prices look like they start from $5.00 on up, depending on how fancy a grill you want to go with.) Other than these few, minor cosmetic issues, this bike looks excellent! I will also include the service manual book for this specific bike. (The owner’s manual and the tool bag that came with the bike are included as well, of course.) I also have a heavy little chrome front wheel-lock device that will also act as an alarm as well. (It requires two AAA batteries installed in it.) If someone attempts to move the bike, the lock will keep the front wheel from being able to roll forward or backward, and it will emit a high-pitched beeping sound for a minute or so, before it will shut up. I’d prefer for this to be a “local pick-up only” situation in order to go over the details with whoever makes the very wise decision to end up with this excellent motorcycle. (Of course I won’t be releasing either the bike or the title to anyone until their bank-certified cashier’s check or money order has cleared. I’m sure you understand.) I would be willing to pick you up at the Los Angeles LAX airport, if you wanted to fly in, and just ride it back home. (That would be the fun way to do it!)
