Vehicle Detail
This auction is for an excellent 1964 Ford Galaxie survivor. Garage kept for most of it's life, this car needs some tlc, but is a complete, solid, running/driving classic automobile, with a ton of restoration potential.. The body is very solid with the exception of the rust you can see in these photos. The floors are good, as are the trunk pan and chassis. The worst of the rust repair needed is at the seam where the roof meets the right quarter panel. There, as seen in the picture, is a gap about an inch and a half long that needs addressed. Because of this you'd think the trunk was rotten, but it isn't. All the glass and most of the trim are in good shape. The vinyl top is surprisingly nice. The doors operate properly and don't sag. The interior is complete and in nice shape for it's age. The dash is in good shape and the hadliner is decent. This car is a Galaxie 500 Xl model which came equipped with bucket seats and console with floor shift as well as the xl trim package and big V-8 motor. It has power steering and manual brakes as well as dual exhaust. The motor is a somewhat newer big-block V-8, I'm not certain of it's size. The previous owner claimed it was a 351 and had been rebuilt at some point, along with the automatic transmission. The car starts right up easily, runs, shifts, steers and stops. The motor sounds and runs well, hold oil pressure and doesn't smoke. Has a ton of power. Don't miss your chance to own this classic American car!
