This is a 78 Pontiac Sunbird Safari 2dr.Wagon , the same body as the Vega but Pontiac version . This car has the 152 4 cyl. Iron Duke and is hooked to the factory 4 speed . The engine is in very good condition and runs smooth , the 4 speed is also smooth in all gears and good clutch . This car has no rust and has been an Arizona car all its life , The following things have been done to the car over the last 10 months...New Battery , Halogen headlights , Wiper blades , Full tune up , Rebuilt carb. , Master cyl. brakes all around , front rotors turned , 4 new shocks , 4 new tires , Rebuilt radiator , Rad. hoses , Heater hoses , exhaust system , Front seats re-upholstered to original , Rear end fluid changed , Trans , and engine oil changed , Etc. I've had this car all over the state and its very reliable and smooth on the highway , it gets around 34 mpg on the road and i would highly trust it on any trip . The rear seat is in very good condition and the spare and jack is in the rear compartment . The body has a few small dings here and there and will need paint at some point , the carpet is worn and needs replaced , Original hubcaps and beauty rings , and the headliner is in very good condition . The gauges work fine but the speedometer has quit and its because the plastic gear inside the transmission is worn and will need some attention . This type of car is a very good candidate for a nice 350 to hook to its 4 speed but with gas prices , the 4 cyl. does great for now . They made a zillion Vega's but only 11.000 Pontiacs for 1978-79 in the little wagon . I've got a very reasonable reserve on the car ----you just don't see these every day and it gets lots of attention . You can fly in and drive it home in confidence or have it shipped .
