The Insight was purchased in Freruary of 2007 with 118014 miles on it. Turned out it had a few issues. Shortly after purchase it received a new battery pack including electronics and a new new transmission. Honda was nice enough to supply the parts for no charge, the only charge to us was for $900.00 worth of labor. In four years we put on 34,000 miles. We drove this car only in the summer. It quickly became my wife's commuter car. In the summer she averaged 62 to 65 miles per gallon. As it gets colder the mileage drops to about 48 mpg. I don't know how the previous owner drove it but when we purchased it the overall average was 44 mpg. We have moved it up to 47 mpg. I must add that I have found out she has a lead foot. I personally know tha at a steady 55mph on the freeway the car will get in excess of 70mpg. and a conservative driver can get 62mpg at any speed. So why are we selling it? Well every winter I would give the wife my driver, a ford Focus and I would drive the truck. This last winter she got the Volvo and I drove the truck. Well she won't give me back the Volvo and the Insight sits so it is time to clean up the driveway a bit. It has been well maintained. Everything works. Front tires have a couple hundred miles on them, the rears about 6 thousand. They are the honda recomended low resistance tires. This car is a sweet runner and ready to drive anywhere! On May-02-11 at 15:55:48 PDT, seller added the following information: The Insight has been sitting for about six weeks so I took it out for coffee this morning. Put gas in the tank and reset the trip odometer/mpg gauge. Driving between 30 and 50 mph with stops, including the coffee shop, I went 13.1 miles and got 72.6 mpg! I guess it is running nicely.
