Vehicle Detail
What we have here is an extremely clean, extremely rare 1970 Custom Camper 20. Plus this one is a Longhorn, which means there is an additional 7" of body, I'll measure to make sure, you can spot it in the pictures, there is a line in the front of the body where the bed was lengthened. The wood under the carpet in the Camper (s/n 125086) is perfect, it has always been a camper, same camper top, look again at the pictures and you can see the side of the body is without a scratch. Matching numbers truck, 350, 285 HP, turbo 400. Everything, all the way down to the tachometer, CB radio, they even put a sunroof in it. The body and molding is as straight as I've ever seen, has a couple of bubbles on the passenger door, front and rear, not yet through paint, cab corners are perfect. Dual tanks, electrically actuated, inside cab for the long hauls, trailer brakes as well, and they work great, I pull a 1960 Chris Craft, 22' with no problem. Power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, all with the pulling power of the 285 HP 350. Call with any questions, located North of Dallas if you want to take a look. May add some additional description along the way if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask, this is a one of a kind if you know anything about this vintage Chevrolet Longhorn. Vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end early, this one will sell, way too clean and original not too. Happy bidding, email with any questions. On Apr-13-11 at 07:48:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I was contacted last night by the second owner of this Chevrolet "Custom Camper" , from the Freemont, California plant. He confirmed that it was ordered as a Camper, as well the original owner he purchased it from had to Special order the top to fit the Longhorn edition, again it has a longer bed, not stamped steel bottom but the older Oak Floor in the truck body. He sold it to the gentleman I purchased it from in Georgia, which is where I picked it up from and Drove it back to the Dallas area. Got good confirmation on lots of things in one conversation. The fellow that got in touch with me is Todd and his telephone number is 815-207-0545. Question and Answer section of this listing, call him yourself if you would like to confirm. I'll have the original Build Sheet on this truck from him as soon as he gets back to his house and can send it to me, as well a copy of the original title. Any additional questions please feel feel to ask. On Apr-14-11 at 03:16:10 PDT, seller added the following information: The Longhorn as I thought is not 12", more like 6" to7". It does have the "Old School", 50s style bed, Oak planks. The factory did not make enough of the Longhorn length beds to justify a stamp for the bottom of the length of the bed, so they improvised, added the forward structure and used the tried and true design of the Oak planks with the metal strips to hold down an anchor the bottom of the bed. Does not look like anything has ever been inside of the bed. I pulled up the carpet about 2"-3" back from the rear of the bed and it is as new. I needed to clarify the Longhorn length vs the standard body style and verify. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Buyer backed out, I refunded his money although I did not have too, I want whomever purchases this Unique Camper to be happy with it, end of story. It's a 1970 model truck. It has not had a "Frame Off Restoration" done to it, was never described that way. If you would like to look at the truck you are welcome, as advertised on the prior offering. This is a Camper, a working Camper, if you want to pull the camper off of it and haul timber then that is your option, after you purchase it. Another one of those times where the truck should have been looked at and a decision made about if it would haul a house trailer around I guess. Please bid accordingly. Call if you have any questions. 214-906-7220 4/28/11 Well here we go again, had a non-registered ebayer pull the trigger on the "Buy it Now" option. Had to re-list, oh well, as a result of these last two rounds the inspection sticker is Brand New, It's full of fuel, washed and ready for someone to take home, maybe the third run through will do the trick, she needs a new home. Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions.
