Vehicle Detail

Exceptionally Upgraded & Maintained by Dinan Employee Family (For larger photos, please visit http://www.jtroll.com/bmw/ ) This is a rare car that you come across once in a blue moon, and parting with it is only possible by the nature of the car I’m upgrading to. It's a five-speed manual, loaded, and drives literally better than the day it came off the show floor. Let me give you an idea: Both my father and I are both former employees of BMW performance parts manufacturer and service shop Dinan Engineering. We keep exceptional care of our cars, and you can bet every single service appointment has been made, with every possible thing to fix, fixed, and every record kept. I refuse to drive a car with any problems. This car is, without question, cherry. Barring some rock chips on the front air dam, it looks stunning: no paint swirls, no dings to speak of, great trim and gaskets, Michelin Pilot Sports with good tread on them, and perfect leather interior I regularly clean and moisturize — sometimes as often as every two weeks (also sometimes how often it’s washed). It’s garaged literally everywhere it goes: at work, at home, you name it. I’m the guy looking for shady spots in your multi-acre parking lot. It’s never seen snow, never been in an accident, and always gets a look when its exhaust roars to life. It came stock fully loaded: power windows, mirrors and seats, every factory option (including sun roof and trip computer), cruise control, full sport package, and silver exterior with black interior. There are over $21,000 worth of performance and trim modifications on this car, and yet it looks clean and classy, and drives like a dream. It wears the “Dinan 3” badge on the rear deck lid for a reason (given after roughly $10,000 in parts have been installed).Total Dinan upgrades includeDinan cold air intake with K&N FilterDinan throttle bodyDinan engine chipDinan-tuned Koni shocksDinan springsDinan sway barsAluminum Dinan strut tower brace with carbon fiber inlays (front)Cat-back Dinan exhaustUltra-rare and lightweight Dinan / Fiske FM5 3-piece 17” 5-spoke wheels (I dare you to find these alone for sale anywhere else; and when you do, they’re $3,000 new), shod with 245mm Michelin Pilot Sports all around. Includes a fifth spare wheel, too.Dinan signature floor mats (don’t laugh: they’re much better than the stock rugs) Dinan figures put this car at over 200hp, and 161 lb-ft of torque.Additional upgrades on the exterior include:Window tintingM-Technic Front & rear bumper installation and M-style side mirrors, professionally installed & painted with OEM paintM-Tech Side Molding KitProfessionally installed & painted AC Schnitzer rear deck spoiler (3 piece)Clear rear and front corner lights with yellow bulbsUmnitza HID Xenon headlights with Angel Eyes (one of the few cars with a Dinan cold-air intake to have these installed, as it’s difficult to do — but it’s so worth it)Interior upgrades include:New alarm (Clarion Ungo ProSecurity S400)Alpine head unit w/ auxiliary input for MP3 player and BMW Orange lighting to match interior lightingLeather steering wheel wrapMomo shift knobJL Audio 6” subwoofer in custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure, carpeted to match trunk interiorAlpine SW51042D subwoofer amplifierCompletely upgraded audio & speaker system, including MB Quart Premium crossover; Focal tweeters; kicker ZX3504; Alpine MRP-M450 Mono Power Amplifier This car comes with every service appointment receipt and upgrade receipt ever given to me for it, plus a good deal from the previous owner — all from Dinan. I’m the second owner, purchased in 2004 at 106k miles. It’s now at 203k miles, almost all highway (years of commuting 280 from Cupertino to South SF), and still jumping like new. I rarely take it above 3,000 RPM except for the rare Sunday morning down highway 35, but when it pulls, it pulls — and it handles like it’s on rails. It has a brand-new clutch, installed about 3k miles ago; and over the life of the car since I purchased it, it's averaged 23.7 MPG (I know because I keep a log book of every fill-up, and averaged it out in a spreadsheet). My bottom line is I want to give this car a good home, with someone who will appreciate it as much as I have. I sold my last Dinan-maintained car (a 1978 320i) at 280,000 miles, and it’s still on the road today. Hopefully that gives an idea of how obsessively this car has been maintained. You won’t find a better previously-owned BMW today; I almost guarantee it. Shown by appointment only: after I had it detailed, it hasn’t left my father’s garage in Cupertino barring one last service appointment trip for an oil change. This should be obvious by now, but please: serious buyers only.
