Vehicle Detail

Hello, you are bidding on a 1971 Camaro Ralley Sport. I am the third owner. This car was built at the Los Angeles/Van Nuys plant in California, and originally sold at Don Steves Chevrolet in LaHabra, Ca. I have the original build sheet from that dealer. The car has remained in the Los Angeles/Orange County area since it was originally purchased. In addition to the car being a true RS, it originally came equipped with factory a/c, power disc brakes, power steering, 350 2bbl, TH350 trans, 8.5 ten bolt rear end, hidaway wipers, and AM/FM radio. Engine is original and numbers match. Other than a single repaint and the addition of a steel cowl induction hood, this car is an unmodified original showing wear. All sheetmetal is original GM. This car has never had a panel replaced, nor has it ever been in a serious accident. CONDITION IS AS FOLLOWS: Drivetrain: Runs and drives good and has been maintained. Engine has never been out of the car, but still runs strong, and does not smoke. Leaks a little oil. Engine compartment is original and unmodified. Transmission was rebuilt and shifts great. Radiator and hoses had recently been replaced, muffler as well. A/c pump had been replaced at some point also. A/c is complete and functions, however it blows cool, not cold, so the system will need a charge. Brakes have a nice solid pedal, but front pads are 80% worn and will need replacing at some point in the future. Front end appears as if it has been maintained, but I would suggest a good alignment. 14x7 inch wheels are original to the car. All wiring is uncut/unmodified. All blinkers, brake and headlamps, dome lamp, and running lights work, so does the horn. Cig lighter and wipers work fine also. Heater and a/c controls work fine. Other than the above mentioned items, I suggest some new belts and replacing the rear shocks. The car is in pretty good service otherwise. Interior: Interior is complete, decent for a driver, but obviously showing wear. Interior could stand an interior "kit" and a new headliner installed. Steering column is tight, shifter works fine. All gauges work fine. Console is in good shape, could use a replacement lid at some point. The rear ashtray assembly for the console is loose/included with the car, but is not pictured. Seat belts are all intact and in good working order. Window regulators work fine. Body: Super solid trunk, floors, framerails, and trunk extensions. No, this car does not need major panel replacement like floors or quarter panels, framerails, etc. Paint looks good for a driver but will eventually need MINOR dent/rust repair/bodywork, and a repaint. The body has dings, dents, chips, and flaking paint. Drivers door hinge is tired and needs re-bushed. Rear bumper needs rechromed. RS front group is in excellent shape/very straight, and has never taken a hit. Yes, I have the jack and spare/hardware. They were removed to show the solid condition of the trunk floor. Jack, etc, will need sandblasted and repainted. Please expect surface rust, as no 40 year old car that has been driven is "rust free", even here in California. Overall, the body is extremely solid. Overall: If you are looking for a solid, unmolested, driver quality West Coast car, this is it. Yes, it needs a cosmetic restoration, but isn`t a rustbucket that needs thousands of dollars worth of panel replacement, just typical bodywork for a car of this age. Potential Buyers: I have described this car honestly and to the best of my knowledge, but please, if you need additional pics, or have any questions, ask BEFORE bidding as this sale is final with no warranty. Feel free to call me with any questions, but please, only if you are a serious buyer. If I don`t answer, LEAVE A MESSAGE and I will call you back!! Lowball offers will not receive a response. I am not out of work, losing my house, etc. I also reserve the right to end auction at any time for local sale. Yes, this car is available in person for inspection at any time before the end of auction as I have nothing to hide. Out of country Buyers: I have sold and shipped cars to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, and Norway in the past, and have references. I can help arrange shipping to a port of your choice. However, there will be a fee envolved, and you must please contact me to arrange payment details BEFORE bidding. > > BIDDERS WITH 15 OR LESS FEEDBACK WILL CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING AS I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID OTHERWISE. NOTHING PERSONAL, BUT I HAVE DEALT WITH TOO MANY NON-PAYING BIDDERS IN THE PAST AND IT WILL NOT HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN. THANKS.
