Pictures AND Videos! Scroll down! 1962 Studebaker Lark - An overall amazingly healthy running and driving car in want of a caring new owner who can give her some cosmetic TLC. Hello eBayers, I know there is a lot of writing and info here, but please take the time to read it. I have always given an in-depth description of the cars I sell on eBay. I find that buyer appreciate this. If there is something I haven't covered, please let me know and contact me. I've seen these cars go for quite a pretty penny! However, I am listing it as an absolute auction, no reserve. I have done this in the past, and I find that the law of supply and demand takes over and USUALLY the right price is met. I sincerely hope it will be in this case, because I am moving and regrettably, must sell this beauty. You could walk away a buyer who just "stole" a nice Lark, but nevertheless you will certainly be a proud and happy owner. This car will not disappoint, as it is, to the best of my honesty and knowledge, just as advertised. Ok then, you are bidding on my father's Lark - this is something he needs to let go of due to financial obligations. My father is a car fanatic, and loves oddball 60s 70s and 80s cars, just like myself. I have sold several of my cars through eBay, getting ready to move, all with positive feedback. These include several Mercedes 300 Diesels, a VW Westfalia, a v12 Jaguar convertible, a Datsun Fairlady Roadster, another Volvo 262 Bertone, and some others. You can be certain you are getting all the info that I have on the car you are bidding on, and I disclose everything to the best of my knowledge. The good, the neutral, the things that may need help, the history, it is all here, nothing is being hidden or not disclosed. If there is something that you would like to know, please call me at (512) 588-3492 or send me an email. You may get a quicker response by calling me. I would like to mention, please do not bid on this item if you are not wanting to follow through. As you may know, eBay ads cost money, $120 to be exact, and I do need to sell this car in a timely manner for my move. She is worth every penny, and has a remarkable history. The "first" buyer for the last car I sold here, a 1979 Mercedes 280se, kept making excuses as to why he could not pay the deposit, and eventually flaked out. The second buyer stepped in and bought it, was happy and left positive feedback, but guys, please, do not waste my time or your time. The car is listed to the best of my knowledge and experience in ownership, and honesty is key for me. Please rest assured the car is a wonderful example of a 280z, and I'm confident you will be happy. Please follow through on your purchase, As stated before, I must move and selling this car must be done in a timely manner. With that said, I can store the car for you in my air-conditioned garage in Lakeway for 2 weeks, perhaps a little more if you contact me first. The cut and dry: This car runs great, starts up the first time every time, drives excellent, and all the things that should work, do work. The drivetrain is excellent. We drove this car almost 100 miles with confidence just a few weeks ago. The engine and 3-speed on the column transmission is just great, can't say enough about it. The car drives straight and true down the highway and is a joy to drive. All the gauges work! Interior: The pictures pretty much tell the story, but the interior is certainly the original one. Overall, for a 1962, its in fair shape. Of course, these cars dont have much to them, so it can easily be reupholstered to look fantastic! Engine/Drivetrain: This car starts up first time everytime, the engine PURRS, and the transmission shifts just like it should, with no slips or problems. It is a tremendously healthy running car. The car drives straight and true down the highway, and feels like a much younger car. It is a true pleasure to drive, and doesn't do anything it shouldn't. It doesn't wander, and feels solid. Body: The car suffers from trapped water (see pictures of the rust under floorboard) - The frame does have rust, but it is surface rust. There are no holes eating away at it, the only real spots that have rust that needs attention soon are the ones you can see in the pictures. This car is in NO WAY a "lost cause" - not a "rustbucket" - I wouldn't have bought it if I felt it was... She just needs attention by a competent bodyman or yourself... She is worth the trouble, she just runs and drives too well... Definitley worth the effort! Good luck bidding, please contact me if you have any questions. Number is below the following section - Please read all of below! I will require a $500 cash deposit, sent to paypal, within 12 hours of auction close, and the remainder within 3 days, in cash, or a cashier's check that I can clear at a local bank on the day of pickup. If you need other arrangements, please contact me first. Please honor your bid, I have put a lot of time into this ad, and for someone to just back out is very unfair. Please let me know your intentions if you have zero feedback, or I may cancel your bids. I'm sorry, I've just had bad experiences in the past with bidders with zero or negative feedback. One of you guys are bound to ask something like: "Can I drive this car straight to California or New York??" - Well, I don't see why not, but then again, I don't even drive my DAILY DRIVER out of town, let alone out of state. I'm the kind of guy who rents a car for peace of mind. So, in conclusion, I feel like the car would make it, but she IS 31 years old, and a collectible, so I would not neccessarily do it. I would have a transposrt company pick it up if you live a considerable distance. Believe me, this car is worth it. Don't risk the rocks and pebbles and road hazards on a 1500 mile trip. To date, every car I have sold on eBay, including a 1975 Peugeot 504 DIESEL that was driven to CANADA from Texas (I know, right?), has made it to its destination just fine if the new owner decided to drive it, but of course, I cannot guarantee anything to you. I hope it makes sense and you understand. Title is clear and in hand. Good luck bidding, I know you will love this car just as much as my father and I. Please call with any questions, you may get a faster response than thru email. You can contact me at (512) 588-3492. Pictures: Please click to enlarge. We have paid over $900 for these parts, and we can resell them, BUT... we are prepared to let them go with the car for an extra $350. Please keep this in mind. I did make a mistake by not writing this, but by saying it now in point 24 font, I hope it is seen. Also, A few of you have been wondering why I said that this car looks great for a "33" year old car - I made a mistake, I used part of an ad I made for my Datsun.. =)... This car is a 1952, and therefore 59 years old. A simple, honest mistake. I apologize. Thanks for bidding, and my sincere apologies for any inconvenience. On Apr-13-11 at 20:23:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Important Update 2: =) Oh man, I must be tired or maybe I failed the 2nd grade... I made another mistake on update #1... I'm writing this ad for my father, and boy, did I mess up. The car is, in fact, a 1962. not a 1952. This makes the car 49 years old, NOT 59 years old. So again, my apologies. I can't believe myself. This car IS a 1962, and is a 49 year old car. For sure this time. =) Terribly sorry, guys. (I even made update #1 in 36 point font like I'm willing to bet my life on it... really though, this update #2 is correct and this is the correct year and age.)
