Vehicle Detail
I am offering my 1969 Firebird 400 automatic convertible VIN 223679U125971 for sale. The engine 0756197 WE is not original per PHS documentation. I will try to provide as much information as possible. It is a non running car and will require a complete restoration including body, interior and all mechanicals. I have the PHS documentation Body I am not an expert so I have posted over 200 photos on Photo Bucket. There is rust in the floor boards. At least the driver's side will need to be repaired. It has perforated on the driver side. The rockers appear solid with some bubbles. The hood has rust as seen. I do not know if it will need rear quarters. The subframe is solid. The car has been sitting for the past 12 years. It was running poorly at that time. The power top worked at that time but it has not been tested since then. The top is rotten and will need replacement. The original color is Windward blue which was special order. It also had a dark blue top originally. Drivetrain The engine is a non original 400. I was told it came from a later model passenger car . It is not running and will require a complete rebuild. The numbers are listed above. I was told the turbo 400 automatic is not original to the car. It will also need a complete rebuild. The car came with a turbo hydromatic as listed in the PHS documents. I have not seen the numbers on the rear end. The mileage is unknown but the odometer reads 14,061. Interior The interior will need to be replaced. It came with an optional center console. The seat frames are solid. Trunk It is solid with some superficial rust. There are no perforations. General This is a very desirable Firebird 400 convertible with a special order factory paint that needs a full restoration. I have 4 Pontiac rally II wheels without trim that will need restoration that go with the car. The American Racing wheels go with the car. Options noted on the PHS documents include PaintSpecl, Turb/Hydr, dual horns, deluxe wheel discs, console, power disc brakes, 400 engine, radio, deluxe belts, deluxe steering wheel, power steering, and power top. Other projects dictate sale. I am not an expert so ask questions.
