Vehicle Detail

I have jotted up a summary based on the information I have. Check this for accuracy or anything that should be added. 1970 Datsun Fairlady 2000 Roadster This Datsun is a low-mileage, highly original final-year car from the collection of a prominent automotive journalist and vintage car collector. It was a Southern car – sold and owned in the Winchester, Virginia area -- until a few years ago, and has never had any rust. This car has less than 45,000 original miles, and that mileage is backed up by inspection stickers. The paint is all original except for the right rear quarter, where a minor repair was done in the 1970s. The interior is all original. Everything is in good working order. The car comes with its original dealer-supplied KC hardtop with preformed headliner, and it has a brand new, top quality, professionally installed soft top with a zip-out rear window. The car has new radial tires mounted on wheels that were recently bead blasted and painted. There is a fresh battery, voltage regulator, and wiper blades. Most everything on this car is original, from the chrome hubcaps to the radio. Even under the hood all the correct hoses and fittings are in place. The new owner will receive extensive manuals and parts catalog. There are few imperfections, other than the most minor paint blemishes and a hairline crack in the dash. Datsun's Fairlady roadster was introduced in 1963, and as such had the opportunity to learn from not only Nissan's impressive history but also the lessons of older British and Italian designs. In 1967 it was upgraded to become the 2000 roadster with an all-new engine. The SOHC engine put out over 120 horsepower mated to a modern 5 speed gearbox. By the time production ceased in 1970, over 40,000 1600 and 2000 Fairlady Roadsters had been built. The car paved the way for the immensely successful Datsun/Nissan Z-car series of sports and GT cars. Whether to enjoy or show, it is unlikely that you will find a better example of this rare Japanese sports car from the tail end of the classic era.The car is located about 30 miles from New York City and the buyer will collect it there unless other arrangements are made during the auction. Seller will work to meet a shipper or help in any other way.A $500 deposit is requested within two days of the auction's end by PayPal. The remainder should be paid within a week unless otherwise agreed. Bank check or wire transfer preferred. The car's title can be mailed as soon as payment clears, or the car can be collected. Many thanks for your interest in this uniquely original and charming Datsun! On Apr-11-11 at 07:43:56 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a Datsun 1600, NOT a 2000 model. Yes I knew that -- but the listing program here only offered 2000 as a model and that distracted me. I'm very sorry for the confusion! This is a 1970, 1600, four-speed car. Many thanks to all who wrote to correct this mistake in my listing. The car is located in Nyack New York, about a half hour North of the NYC, near the Tappan Zee Bridge. It is not in Virginia. Unless other arrangements are made, the buyer should expect to pick up or send a shipper to collect the car in Nyack, N.Y.
