Vehicle Detail
This is an adult owned older restoration, not some hotrodded teenagers car. It is a true Z-16 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. The pearl white BC/CC paint was done in 2001-ish, and is still looks really good and shiny. Has a full roller valvetrain 5.7 motor with a nice cam and 700R4 transmission w a 2500 lockup stall converter put in it approximately the same time (have receipts for all work done). Motor has Edelbrock "huggie" headers and 2.5" dual exhaust, huge aluminum radiator (no cooling issues), all emissions controls are hooked up and intact (CCC electronic carburetor, AIR tubes in the headers, O2 sensor, etc), It has a few very minor nuisance leaks, (oil and trans fluid, about a couple of drips spot overnight, going to about the size of a quarter once it sits for a month or so). I have not had any cooling issues/leaks with it at all. No issues with it starting, ive never had any problems the battery and cables and starter and all... it would sit in the garage for weeks at a time and crank right up. I bought this car in November of 2010 and have not had the time to work on it like I would like to, I have put new shocks front and back, new sway bar end links, change the plugs and tint the windows thats about it. Issues/flaws that need to be addressed with this car that I know about are, AC needs charged, PDL dont work at all (probably a relay? it didn't worry me, so I didn't look into it), PW work fine going down, but go up slowly, (common issue with Gbodies), the electronic Quadrajet carburetor fuel bowl drains down if you let it sit more than two weeks or so without starting it (yet another common issue), but it will start after about three tries of cranking it for three or four seconds to get fuel to the carb; one of the roller cam roller lifters ticks for a couple seconds right after you start it, headliner sags, and seats have a couple cigarette burns from previous owners. However, the car has been very dependable, is pretty dang fast, drives like it should, great brakes, drives straight, etc... its a good solid car and will make a good daily driver IF you can afford the gas to put in it... it SUCKS gas... im guessing 11-13 mpg-ish. I drove if from Houston to San Antonio on one tank (maybe 200 miles) and the car did just fine.
