It sold new and was always in Chanute Ks.. The odometer reading of 55,524 is signed for as actual in a letter that states the history of the car by the 90 year old second owner. He also told me that the engine, transmission, and rear end are all oringinal and that the only body repair or painting that was ever done to the car was that a NOS right front fender was installed many years ago. It is quite obvious that only the fender has ever been repainted Equipment: 327 - 275 horse ( the same double hump heads and cam as the 300 HP but with a Rochester carb instead of a Carter) Powerglide automatic Air conditioning Power brakes Bucket seats Console Mechanical Condition: The car has been sitting outside for perhaps 20 years now. He stopped driving it because his son shorted and burned some wires under the dash when he put in a new front speaker. A flash rain a couple of years ago got high enough to get water in the engine. The engine is stuck and I could not break it loose. I drained the oil (with clean water in it)and changed the engine and trans oil. The trans didnt have much water and I found none in the rear end. I sprayed lube in the spark plug holes but it will need to be pulled apart. Numbers and Dates: With the research I did I couldn't find anything to dispute the fact that the engine and trans were original to the car. With cars under 300 HP the vin may or may not be stamped. This one wasn't but the codes and dates all matched up. The front of the block stamping is F0121HC This represents built at Flint, Jan 21 and 275 HP powerglide. The body build date is the 01D (the last week of Jan). The engine casting date is Jan 20 65 and the casting # 3782870. The trans stamped # is T0105D (Jan. 5 day shift) I could only find the casting # for the rear end 3852980N. I noticed that the AC hoses were dated 64-11. This car was never hot rodded and was kept with such low miles because the town is very small. The farmer drove his pickups most of the time. Body: The paint is original (except the rt front fender) and is checked. It needs stripped. There is no rust out in the frame, rocker panels, floor pans, and back window area. I pictured all the rust I could find. It has some small holes in the trunk floor, left fender, right lower quarter, and the biggest hole is in the left lower rear quarter. The trunk lid has a thin blistered strip at the center bottom. The glass is very nice except for a wiper scratch. I found a very nice grille that will go with the car. It also has a new correct headliner included. The bumpers and chrome are very good for original. I'm sorry but I won't sell it befor the auction ends.
