Vehicle Detail

1970 Series IIA 109 Station Wagon. This vehicle is a daily driver. I drive it to work every day (about a 12 mile round trip). I do basic running around in it on the weekend. I completed an approximate 300 mile trip in it about four weeks ago without issue. Anything can happen on a trip, especially a long one, however, given a basic set of tools, I'd have confidence driving this vehicle anywhere. There's basic information below, but be sure to visit the videos through the links at the bottom of this description. Features: Overdrive Galvanized Chassis Free-wheeling Front Hubs Vehicle had a complete restoration in '94-'95 and is begining to show it's age again. All door seals and window tracks should be replaced at some point. The bulkhead and radiator supprt panel are in good shape, as are the footwells. The driver's side has surface rust but no big holes or anything. There's no rust in the passenger side footwell. The bulkhead has some surface on the outside near the bottom between the doors and fenders on both sides, and a rust spot above the upper hinge on the right side. The aluminum has started to corrode on the bottom rear corners of both front doors. There are a number of corroded spots on the rear door. There are a few more areas of aluminum corrosion in the floor, mainly in the back floor pan and in and around the middle seat box. These are small areas that could be easily patched, but in an effort to disclose as much as I can think of, I thought I should mention them. The radiator and fuel tank will need to be replaced at some point. The radiator currently does not leak. It's begining to look a little ragged though as the fins between the cores are starting to corrode and deteriorate. The fuel tank has corrosion at the seams and wil probably start to seep at some point. All tires including the spare are in nice shape with plenty of tread. The interior is not perfect but is complete. The passenger side front seat bottom has a tear, and there are a few minor tears in the headliner. It has a two-speed interior heater which works well. The horn doesn't work. It actually has been removed. The engine has a block heater but I've never used it. The coldest night we've had when I needed to start it was 11 degrees and it started right up with no issue. Within the last month the vehicle has had a tune up, oil change, new steering link, and a couple of new tie rods. The speedometer has been acting up (swinging wildly) so no gurantee it will still be working when the auction ends. I made two videos. The first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B3NFDyW6xo shows a cold start. The second http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDF0y_FRimY is a trip around the block. Vehicle being sold as is where is. Please email with any questions. I would consider a partial trade for an 88 with an overdrive. The U.K. plate on the front will be removed prior to sale.
