OK - Let me descibe the car this way - there is Rot everywhere. The floorboards are shot and the trunk pan is non-existent. All fenders, doors roof - everywhere there is rot. The door glass is good and there is no rear glass - front cracked. It is one rotten car. The good - it is a true Malibu SS. The vin itself shows the car to be a 1964 Malibu SS (45837 are the first 5 numbers - the first digit 4 is for the year 1964 and the next 4 (5837) show it is a Malibu SS B (Baltimore) 131162 (actually this car was the last SS malibu built in 1964 - check the s/n records) Trim Tag shows O1B (built 2nd week January) 427 (job #) Style 5837 (ss Malibu) Paint 936 (Ermine White BA5021 black buckets with console (which actually are repairable and not totally destroyed) The motor is NOT numbers matching. It decodes as a 1966 283, 195 HP with standard transmission (code is T0114DA) The good part - intake manifold and carb (casting 384457) decodes to a 1964 Chevelle SS (I am assuming this was the only part of the original motor they kept) The trans, a powerglide has not been checked for originality . Interior - better than the body but rebuidable and certainly not perfect. The rear end I have not checked the numbers as well but when jacked up it shows to be a posi rear. So basically, If you have a 1964 Chevelle and want it to show as a true SS - heres all the parts and goodies you need. I saw a rear end only on ebay for over $1200 so my bargain basement opening price is a no brainer even if you are going to part out the original components (that are usuable). Obviously, this car is not drivable and sold with a bill of sale only. It must be towed from it's present resting place!
