This is a running, driving rare Impala Custom 454. Big block 454, T400 transmission, 4 bl carb. I recently purchased this car to fix up and drive, but need to sell now. I believe I am the 4th owner. The car is in fair shape, no serious rust or damage visible. It had been sitting for 10+ years but I was able to get it running and have been driving it. I have only had to put a new battery in it. 454 engine runs strong, no smoke, but needs a tune-up pretty badly. Transmission is kind of sluggish but has been getting better with exercise. Car has been repainted and paint is not very good, fading, cracking, some peeling. There appears to be body filler in right quarter and around both rear wheel wells, trim is also missing. Hood has a kink at hinge point. There is damage to right rear wheel well in trunk indicating collision damage at some time. Windshield is cracked but all other glass is intact and in pretty good shape. Missing emblems on right side. One mismatched hubcap. Most seals are dry rotted from age and sitting in Eastern Colorado climate. Dash is cracked but instrument panel is in good shape. Everything seems to work except 8 track player ( I'm still working on it). I was told that the interior had been redone some years ago, but there are a couple of seams split on front seats, no holes or tears though. Door panels are in very good condition. Side view mirror is cracked but adjuster still works. Tires are no good at all but hold air. This car is not pristine but it is drivable and complete, a prime candidate for restoration or just hot rodding. It has been fun to cruise in it and occasionally let her stretch out and run.
