Vehicle Detail
1988 Mitsubishi Starion. Factory Turbo Charged intercooled 2.6l 4 cylinder 156K miles daily driver---on body only. I am selling because this is too small for my growing family. I hate to see my baby go. This car has been babied and serviced Campus Automotive in Merced---a very well known and respected shop in town. I purchased this car 11 years ago in Fresno. Since then, I’ve used it as my daily driver through the years…not consistently though because I’ve tried to maintain it since they are getting more scarce and collectable. I’ve tried to keep this car as stock as possible…and maintained it…not raced. It does have an upgraded TOP END over valve cover pipe and blow off valve. I have the original pipe for smog purposes….by the way…it passes smog without a problem. The brand new turbo is two years old. I dropped in a newly rebuilt engine two years ago by Campus Automotive. I got the engine from a certified Tech that works at a local dealership. He restored two starion’s and he personally rebuilt the engine without balance shafts. New tires with 80% tread…Coopers. Drives totally straight and true. This is truly one of the cleanest Conquest / Starion's I have ever seen. I had the car painted professionally about 2 years ago by European Conversions. Ray did an awesome job…He sanded to bare metal and took all the dings out of the body. He sprayed it with a base coat / clear technique using the same factory match Mexican Rio Red paint. It’s absolutely beautiful. I had a brand new lower air dam installed in the front. There are no cracks or tears. It has been kept in the garage daily since the new paint job. Note: The hood in the picture looks like it has a gap…that’s because it does. When they dropped in the rebuild engine two years ago…they unbolted the hood off…they never aligned it back right…that’s an easy fix though. I had the stock aluminum rims polished by a shop in San Diego. Interior- Beautiful!!!!! Soft plush leather. A few years ago I installed some very low mileage seats from a 1987 starion. I have a brand new never installed Heavy Duty Aluminum Radiator, brand new down pipe, and very low mileage intercooler---all included in the sale of this car. This items alone cost me over $500. The car runs great and DOES NOT over heat…the reason I bought the heavier duty radiator was to prevent any overheating problems in the future. I’ve invested over $7000 to keep this car looking like newly restored condition. Keep in mind that this is a 23 year old car. Definitely a classic and a collector’s car. Selling my car for a fraction of that investment…my loss, your gain…seriously. If you want to come and look at the car, please let me know and we will set up a time for a viewing. I will consider all serious offers. Please call with any questions 209-201-1740 ask for John.
