Vehicle Detail
1969 Camaro RS/SS 396 Convertible. You will not find a nicer looking or driving Camaro than this one. This heavily optioned Camaro is finished in Cortez Silver with a black Deluxe Comfort Weave interior and black convertible top. This is a show quality nut and bolt restoration. It contains probably the most options one could get on a 69 Camaro. I absolutely love this car but have decided to sell it to focus on other projects. I have owned this car since 2008 with the idea I would drive and show it. Unfortunately I rarely drive it at all. It is a show car in every way. The underside of the car is as nice as the outside and inside. The Camaro was purchased from a gentleman who had a no money spared professional frame off restoration done. When I picked up the car it had just under 200 miles on it. Today it has slightly over 1100 miles. That is how little the car has been driven in the past 3+ years. The car has a salvaged title. The owner I bought the car from claimed that the car has been off the road since 1974. In MO., where the car is from, if a car has been off the road and not registered for a certain period of time the vehicle is automatically a salvaged title when titled again. (Please research for yourself). It really didn’t matter to me since the car had been completely redone. I have been over the car thoroughly and there is no evidence of it being in an accident of any kind that I can see. It started life as a small block with red exterior, white interior and a white top. The body retains most of its original sheet metal. One quarter and a portion of another were the only metal replaced. The tires are BF Goodrich TA’s 245 60 15. This is not an X-11 car but again this is a clone. Best thing is it is a car that could have been ordered this way for the most part and iss not destroying the originality of a real big block car. LOOK Below at the list of options; · RS/SS Package (Correctly done all the way to the headlight squirters) · Engine: Although it retains the appearance on the outside of an original 396, the block is a standard bore 454 with new GM aluminum Bow Tie heads. The block was decked and line bored. It has a Crane cc 290 cam, Hypertectectic 9.75:1 pistons, Resized rods, polished GM crank, Comp roller tip rockers, double roller timing chain, HV oil pump, hardened push rods, SFI balancer, Felpro gaskets. (This is all the info that was provided with the car. I will say this is one of the best running Chevy’s I Have ever owned or driven) · Turbo 400 Transmission (Rebuilt) · New Moser 12 bolt 308 posi · Front and rear sway bars · Original, Complete and working Cowl Induction hood · 4 wheel disc brakes. Original fronts. The rears are not original. The system has the correct proportioning valve to operate a 4 wheel disc setup. The e brake is present inside but no operational as there are no cables. · SS Wheels · Power brakes · AC (Custom Auto Air. Works incredible) · Cruise Control (Factory) · Power Windows (Work Great) · Tilt Wheel · 140 Speedo · Speed Warning · Gauge package with working low fuel light · Clock (Sweeping second hand not quartz and keeps accurate time) · AM/FM 8 Track (Out of a 70. Completely restored and sounds great · 4 speaker option correctly done with correct parts for a convertible · Rear window defog · Liquid Tire Chain (These were NOS and have 2 bottles of Liquid Chain fluid) · Deluxe Seat Belts (Restored) · Fold Down rear seat · Deluxe interior · Remote Drivers Mirror · Passanger side Mirror · Comfort Weave Interior (The seats are ORIGINAL and in LIKE NEW excellent condition. This also comes with the correct jack and an Elastomeric jack hook as well as a new label for the bottle) · Power Trunk Release located in the Glove Box. · Original wood grain dash appliqué · Original A/C dash pad I have never seen a car for sale optioned the way this one is so needless to say opportunities like this are extremely rare.
