Vehicle Detail
For sale is my beloved 1996 Range Rover. This car has a blown head gasket although the engine is not seized. Driving home the in December it started to smoke heavily (white smoke) but I was able to get it home and park it in my driveway where it now sits. It had been losing coolant for a month or so prior to this issue and I was aware the head gasket needed replacement. I have owned this car for 13 years and always maintained it. Many of the known Range Rover issues have been addressed and fixed (air suspension was replaced with springs, blend flap servos replaced, etc.). I loved this car and treated her as such but it's time to move on. If you are mechanically inclined or have a donor engine I'm confident this Rover would run another 100,000 with little trouble. Prior to the head gasket issue the car was tight, quiet and reliable. All accessories worked as they were intended, no issues with transmission, a/c, heat, etc. The interior is excellent with all wood and dash in perfect condition, just a little wear on the driver's seat bolster. It has the often missing rear cargo tray. The only issue worth mentioning is the sunroof appears to have slipped the track and does not close fully. It will open fully but does not open to vent position. It will leak in a car wash but not with heavy rain. Also of note, the headliner is sagging which is a common Rover issue. The body and paint on this car are excellent with no rust whatsoever (the body is aluminum) and very few scratches and dings. I will remove the aftermarket stereo before sale but include (but not install) a fine factory unit that was original to the car. The car will fire but I have not attempted to start it. If you buy it plan on picking it up with a tow truck or trailer. I will hold it for a reasonable time but want it gone as soon as possible. I have sold several cars through eBay and have perfect feedback. I would consider selling immediately for a reasonable offer. This is a no reserve auction at a reasonable price. If no bidders step up I'll find a motor and put the car back on the road for a winter back-up car. Please email any specific questions.
