Vehicle Detail
Vintage Mopar Dodge Powerwagon W200 Original Step Side truck with original 318 wide block V8, Four Speed, Four Wheel drive, New Process 205 divorced transfer case, with Warn Lock Out's on front Differencial . Factory Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front with 4.10 gears. Drum brakes. Former State of California, Forest Service Truck. Bed is a step side bed that is... 4'6 1/2" wide roughly, BY X 7' 7 long in Length. IT has two heavy duty complete sets of leaf springs on each side of the rear.from the factory...( passenger and drivers side each has two sets per side. Very heavy duty !!! It is almost totally rust free! I only find a rust thru spot on one of the step side steps. ( passenger side) Some light surface stuff that comes clean with a rubbing is all. The body is very sound and especially around the front windsheild top of cab overhang and all is rust free.(this was a known rust area on these trucks in the north east states of the USA. The floors, cab, fenders tailgate, etc are in very sound shape and only have minor dings or small dents in some places. Tail gate is solid and straight and still has it's original chains to hold it shut.. The doors and the hood and the cab are rust free and not dented. The door jambs and floors are solid and rust free and still have good paint on them. The shifter and tranfer case shifter boots and trim rings are not there, But the holes are still in the factory locations and the shifters for the transmission and the transfer case are both stock and as built when new. I only have just one Key for it. The exhaust muffler needs to be replaced. It has different colors of paint on it that covered up a spray paint artists (graffiti ) handiwork is all. The glass is all unbroken and still sealed up good and does not leak. The headlights are the original and they work. Thw windsheild wiper blades work. The dash gauges work and the mileage is correct. The wood floor of the bed is still there and seems really solid. I was confused why someone would cover this wood up, being that it is oak and in good shape, but my dad told me that it was common practice back then for the forest service to cover it with a sheet of metal, So that heavy loads could be carried and not damage the bed floor. Many people do it when the floors go bad. This truck is solid back there !!! My dad used to work with the forest service back then The clutch seems to work fine. The trans and transfer case seem to shift fine. It has all the original handles inside and out, Doors open and close easily and dont stick. Seems to have a deluxe instrument panel, But maybe they came this way too, As it has a factory black out area and gauges,or area around the gauges. The seat is the original and has a cover over it to make it look better. The truck's Poly 318 motor seems fine, ( some call this motor the "Wide Block 318" also. Engine Holds it's fluids and still has the original parts inside, It does not smoke when running or start up, and still has the original points ignition on it. but I also have and INCLUDE a good running 1977 Dodge 440 Engine and 727 automatic transmission that I bought and pulled out of a 1977 Winnebego Motor Home coach that has only 73,001.2 miles on it that I got to run & drive before it was pulled that is included with the sale of the truck. It has the heavy duty 727 short tail shaft transmission that has the bolt in Yoke as needed for the motor home. This trans is in good shape and had shifted fine when I drove the motor home around the man's property beforehand. It also does not have that cable brake drum on the tailshaft that some dodge motor homes had. I see these motor's going for alot of money these days ! Not found much in junkyards either anymore... It comes with good big block truck radiator I pulled from another early dodge truck. The 440 motor is complete from fan, pulleys, power steering pump all the way back to tailshaft and includes the carb (thermoquad). I was going to use the same driveshaft from the tranfer case in this 1964 dodge and it bolts up the same yoke to this big block transmission and makes it a almost direct bolt in swap. Still keeping the divorced transfer case and would now be an automatic instead. It was mentioned that the 440 may bolt up to the wide blocks 318 bellhousing if I wanted to keep it a manual transmission, But I have not confirmed this as fact yet. I do know that the newer LA style bellhousings are different and would not work unless the bellhousing is switched to the newer style 318/360 truck style as used thru out the 70's I also have a set of used 440 mopar Truck headers that I will include that are solid and in good shape with collector reducers that I was going to use to install the 440, but the 440 engine also has the truck/van/ motor home cast iron exhaust manifolds still on it if you dont like headers.. the 318 in the truck is the original numbers matching motor to this truck and as far as we can tell has never been removed, It Does not knock or make funny noises and it had a single muffler exhaust pipes on it as when it was made new. I was going to change it over to the headers and a true dual exhaust system if I end up keeping it. The 440 engine and transmission has the long oil pan dipstick and long transmission dipsticks from the motor home to help with checking fluids while staanding in front of the truck that I thought would be nice to use in this Powerwagon too! I just wanted more towing horspower and torque of the big block is all for towing or maybe an occasional truck pull contest, and if it does not sell, I will do the swap and move onward and keep it.... It was a plan of mine to make a custom tow vehicle and custom pull or mud truck or weekend playtoy to match my racecar in paint and and also use to tow my dodge demon 340 show and drag race cars to my local tracks, etc,.... using this truck and may still do so if it does not sell. I JUST HAVE TO MANY TOYS.. And This Truck is getting in my way now... Milage is an accurate 144,145.2 miles to date. Runs and drives, But needs brakes or brake work as brake pedal goes to the floor, I find No leaks in the system, But have not tried to bleed the brakes and believe the brake master cylinder needs bled, rebuilt or replaced since I bought it two years ago. The Parking brake works just fine though !!!!! So I think it is bleeding or rebuild master cylinder. It has just been sitting as I have not been able to free up the space to work on it. It would be an easy truck to restore. easy prep to paint and all. I need the room and have stored it in my back yard as I cant keep it in with my airplane in the hangar any more,( airport won;t allow it!) But hate just letting it sit and yet really dont want to sell it, But it is not going to get worked on any time soon due to work load and other commitments... Sort of a rare truck I think... As you just dont see these rare trucks around in this good shape anymore! Especially down here in Florida. It is much better shape then the pictures show!!! Come and look at it and make me an offer! I bought it to redo and restore and have also bought several other mopar muscle cars I'd rather do instead , And trucks are not really my thing. . It was shipped from Truckee , California to Tampa, Florida ..Where I got it, then I transported it to my home from Tampa. It has an open California title, ready to be signed and turned over to a new owner It was a military truck before it was given to the forest service and back then stuff was auctioned to local agencies first, Then other countries second and lastly to the american public if not bought in the previous goverment auctions.. Also along with the truck it includes THREE complete sets of wheels. ( Pictured in listing). A complete set of steel spoked 16.5 x 8" wide ,8 lug wheels painted orange. A complete set of steel spoked 16.5 x10" wide, 8 lug wheels painted white. A complete set of racing bart wheels, Steel 15" x 13"Wide for the rears, and 15"x 12" wide for the fronts, That are all 8 lug , They are painted silver. these look alot like the weld draglite wheels We had a set of 39.5x15.50 super swamper boggers on these bart wheels that I sold the tires to a buddy for his Mud truck and kept my wheels. The bogger tires are not included in the sale, but I will post a picture of them mounted on this truck to show how well they fit it !!!! All these wheels come with the truck included also. AND ALL FIT THIS TRUCK TOO !!! The wheels that are on the truck as it sits on the ground are factory wheels that where pulled off of a mid 70's dodge truck to remove the old style split rims from the truck that originally came with ( split rims are not safe and most shops won't work on them anymore) The tires mounted on the truck are also in good shape that are on the truck, but they are bias ply and not very large. 16x7.60's. So actually it comes with 4 sets of wheels counting the ones the truck is sitting on now. The truck needs a battery and does not come with a battery. To start it for you i will take a battery out of one of my race car's. ( but need to keep my battery) The gas tank is original, Is clean and is in the factory location behind the seat with the filler on the drivers side The 318 motor needs a new service ( oil and filter's, plugs, etc change) as it is now overdue on that as the oil is dark now and overaged. IT is missing the rear tail lights. Someone wanted them and stole them where I had it stored before, and I see the taillights are often available still in new or reproduction even here on ebay. May even use something custom or the same as the ford and chevy stepside trucks, Not sure if they are the same or not. The back bumper is not original and has a 2" ball mounted on it for towing and has some sort of wiring harness back there for lights.. The front bumper is also custom made by someone and is very very stout, easily pushes tree's and such out of your way without breaking!!! I bought a Hurst floor shifter with a small hurst console I was going to mount over the same hole that the manual shifter fits thru now when I switched it over to the big block. This shifter is in the cardboard box seen in the passenger side seat and is also included. This is a Good old solid dodge truck that needs a good home. Made when trucks where built tough by dodge! Early Viet Nam era work truck.. These are easy to work on , A little prep and fix and it would be ready to paint all new again and not need much to do that !!! I like how the hood tilts back almost all the way to the windsheild and out of the way, and so it is easy to work on, Yet not easy to find one of these 4x4's for sale! Truck can be seen at my home in Orange City, Florida Just off I-4 at exit #114 , between Daytona Beach and Orlando, Florida. I will not ship this truck, BUT I will assist in helping a shipper load it here though no problem..... If you are local, We may be able to work something out if you want me to deliver it after payment with my own trailer for a small fee for fuel ( diesel) .... With a battery it can drive itself onto any truck or trailer on it's own and does not need to be winched.. A short distance one may be able to sneak it home from here, But I am not telling you to go get into trouble doing it !!! It is not licensed now and would need to be transported also because of the brakes needing work I feel.. Commercial Auto transport carriers are all listed in the phone book and not that much either, the buyer must make arraingments themselves or pick up themselves. I have shipped and also had shipped to me vehicles from all over the USA and find that they all are better on price than if I was to just do it myself, They do it for less than most can do it for, On your schedule, and deliver right to where you want it I shipped a truck recently to Devils Elbow, Missouri for 900.oo by commercial auto transport in November 2010. And bought a 1971 dodge demon 340 body (H code) from a man in Ohio that did not run, and had it shpped to me for only 750.oo total to my door here in Florida. The shipper told me that running vehicles ship for even less !!!. So shipping is not much if you can't get the truck in person. If you cant come look at it and have a friend that lives nearby that wants to come look at it, Just send them over and check it out! I prefer that the buyer look at it beforehand, As once it is won it is now yours! I do not make refunds if you suddenly decide you made a mistake! I try to be accurate in my listings and you must realize this is an original 40 year old truck and not some show truck. It is offered to anyone that wants to have something that needs some work, But is an excellent start to building it up or restoring the truck in their own tastes.. Deposit is non refundable. I can store the truck for a awhile if you need some time, But naturally want it gone asap to make my wife happy! It is locked up in a safe watched, Fenced and armed location, So nothing is going to happen to it. I feel that I am starting the listing at a low price for all that one would be getting in the truck, Motor and trans and extra's and that is for you to decide. I see chevy's and ford's all day long and seldom see these mopar's up for sale.. So here is one for sale, and I think you will be very pleased with it's condition when you see it in person. I have not cleaned, painted or polished up anything and dont want to either, This way you can see the truck as it Is.. I prefer paypal for payment Once paid for and tranport arrainged for.... and you are out of area. I will send the title and paperwork in a fed ex overnight envelope to the buyer asap! ( with tracking number for the envelope) Please look at the pictures. It is sold as is, where is and I do not accept returns. I prefer you come and look at the truck before you buy it. If you are a ways a way....Ill anwer any questions about it I can, Do a walk around on the phone with you, But it is sold as pictured, and auction includes all the sets of wheels, 440 motor and 727 transmission that's back in the bed of the truck , and the headers, radiator and hurst automatic shifter that's in the cab as pictured only. Please look at some of my other auctions for mopar parts and race stuff. I collect and race and restore and sell sometimes ...mopar muscle cars as a hobbie for the last 35 years... Currently looking for a 1972 dodge demon body to use for my extra parts to restore or ??? best price paid on demon's condition. Thankyou. Grant Eaton 407-947-9005.
