Drop the Top, and Cruise in Style this Spring, Summer, & Fall!!! Vehicle Description: For Sale: An Awesome Head-Turning Machine and Classic Muscle Car Survivor! "1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supeme Convertible" This car is a great daily driver, or is an excellent specimen for anyone who wanted the perfect foundation for a mint restoration. Built from the factory with the highly desired Red Exterior, combined with a White RagTop and Interior, this car still has the original 350 Rocket Engine and Trans. - Believe me when I say, "It turns heads wherever it goes!" The body styling is truly a classic! Vehicle Condition: This Red Rocket Cutlass Supreme is in really good condition for being four decades old, but deserves to be better loved and driven more than I can currently do it justice. By sitting, it is somewhat starting to show its age a little in the form of paint fade and rust in expected areas, but some of these cosmetic repairs were started by the previous owner but will need to be finished to your standards. Originally purchased new in 1971 by a Doctor for his wife, this car was their baby for a long time. As such, I have a great deal of documents and documentation to include, and almost all maintenance/work repair records from at least the last 20 years to include with the sale of this car. As for other not-so-perfect aspects...The radio is not the original. There is a crack in the original front windshield. The convertible top is beginning to show some small cracks on its side edges, but I believe there are far more positives than negatives on this classic muscle machine. Such as... The original 350 Rocket engine which runs good and quiet, and the matching trans that shifts nicely. The odometer reads just over 140,000 miles. The Interior, Seats and Dash are in really good condition overall but there is an area of some splitting in the driver's seat surface. The convertible top goes up and down nicely with the power button, and a nice Parade Boot is included, as seen in the photos. The windows, lights, power top control, radio, and door locks all work. The tires still have good tread...and a car cover is included. NADA lists their base "low retail price" at roughly $9,500.00 for a normal use model of this car. I believe that pretty much covers everything I can think of, However, because I am not a mechanic or a car dealer, and possibly the potential is there that I may have missed some thing that would matter to you,...it is being sold "As Is" with "No Warranties Expressed or Implied." For many of you, I apologize but I don't have all the technical info or answers to satisfy many of your questions. Sorry, but I'm just not that knowledgeable about cars in general. What I do know is that this auction is Not for a Show Car...nor is it an auction for a Non-Running Junker. But to sum it up as best as possible...The Car is nearly 41 Years Old... So it does have some normal age issues, as it is currently Not a Restored vehicle. If it were showroom new, mint, or fully restored the price would be 4X Higher and would probably be listed to be sold by a broker. So as I said above, the car runs, drives, shifts, the top goes up and down as it should...but there are some visible areas where there is paint fade, rust, and cracking of the vinyl top...Again, as I mentioned above. So, while this car is fun to drive and has a lot of potential in my opinion if you are expecting a Frame Off, Show Ready,Restoration or Mint Condition Vehicle, I'd recommend that you Do Not Bid and keep looking for it. No Harm and No Foul. In my opinion though, someone (whomever bids and wins) is going to get a fun, classically styled, muscle type car for a reasonable price, that has a lot of potential, that doesn't break-the-bank, and still leaves some funds in their pockets for future repairs, upgrades, and personalization.
