Honda XL500 R Here is a great opportunity for all Classic Motor Bike Enthusiasts to own a nice XL500 R from 1982. The bike runs excellent and is California register to August 2011. I bought it for a weekend in Bonneville as a ride from the hotel to the track. Before we left, I installed new front, rear tires and a Battery. Spray the bike for salt protection with tool wax and this is still on the whole bike and can be cleaned off easily. (See the rear wheel and swing arm picture.) The mileage is around 5000 but not traceable. I got it with around 4000 and don’t think that I put more the 1000 miles on the bike. There is no oil burning or consumption for the time I have owned the bike. Only on the head is a minor leak from the top what I haven’t traced down yet. I replaced the broken Speedometer with one from E-bay and this shows 9000 miles. The bike has a super trap exhaust system and is still nice Quiet. When cleaned, the bike looks almost new. No rips in the original seat, no dents in the Tank I am a 60 year old Car engineer with 20 years motor bike mechanic experience and just got a new bike with E-Starter.
