Beautiful 1939 Chevrolet Business Coupe Master 85 Series. If you are looking for a great looking old car to show off, this is the one! This car was purchased brand new in Hickory, NC from Lang Chevrolet Co. in 1938. This vehicle has been in Hickory, NC all it's life. This car was completely restored beginning in 1975 and completed in 1980. The motor was rebuilt, everything was repainted and kept to the original specs. The body and frame are in excellent shape. There was only one place of rust on the entire vehicle and that was in the rear of the trunk, that portion was replaced (the area pictured in photo 21). All the floorpans are original and have no rust. Vehicle has been driven very little in the last 31 years. It has been garage kept and only driven enough to keep the engine, brakes and all other components in good operating condition. Overall, the car is in great mechanical shape. It runs great and starts right up every time. It has a very good heater, has a radio. 3 speed manual on-the-floor transmission. 216 cu. inch engine that was completely overhauled in 1980. Original Town and Country horns. Back floor mat is original. Body is very solid. The odometer shows 65,000 miles, but the odometer/speedometer cable is no longer working. The car is black and the interior is tan/beige. The interior is nearly perfect, there are no cuts, tears, rips in the fabric. Non-smoking owners. The paint is in excellent shape, but it is 30 years old and is starting to show it's age in a few small places. There are no dents or dings on the body of this car. Overall, this car is very clean and in superb physical and mechanical condition. I am listing this car for my grandfather. He purchased this car in 2004. He had new brakes installed and the carb rebuilt in 2004. He personally knew the two previous owners. He has the original title from Lang Chevrolet and it was purchased on 11-5-1938.
