Vehicle Detail

Hi! Up for auction today we have a 1981 Honda CB750 Custom motorcycle. Just a quick disclaimer up front- I am listing this for a friend. I will do my best to describe it accurately and will answer questions to the best of my ability, but I am only going on what I have been told. It's in pretty good, though not perfect shape. There are some scratches on one side of the tank (not too bad, but they are there) and there is a little surface rust in a few places (nothing major, just cosmetic). However, it looks to me to be in pretty good shape for a 30-year-old bike. It's not a show piece, but it's certainly not a rusted out heap, either. The carburetors have been rebuilt and the bike does run, though the carburetors will need some adjusting for it to run and idle right. The right carburetor also has a very small drip when running. I would guess that the seal for the bowl might be leaking a little. The tires are in good shape, though not new. The front is a Cheng Shin HIMAX and the rear is a Metzler ME 880 Marathon. It has a Kerker exhaust (at least the pipes, though I think it looks like it probably is a full Kerker system). It has a slow battery drain when not running, but you can unplug a connector next to the battery to keep it from going dead. All the lights and the horn work. The side covers are not on the bike in the pictures. The owner thinks he has them and is looking for them. They will be included if he can find them. It is a cruiser-style bike, but it has an inline four-cylinder engine, not a V-twin. It doesn't really quite sound like a sport bike, but it's definitely not a Harley-sounding bike. Now for all the fine print. A $250 deposit is due within 5 days of the end of the auction. A US Postal money order or cash will be accepted for the deposit. The deposit is non-refundable unless I have misrepresented something in the auction. The balance is due when the bike is picked up. The winning bidder is responsible for arranging shipping or transport, or picking up the bike, as well as all associated costs. The bike needs to be picked up within 2 weeks (14 days) of the end of the auction. All sales are final, unless I have misrepresented something in the auction. This is a 30-year-old used motorcycle, not a new one. If you want a new one, go to a Honda dealer. I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible, and buyer's remorse is not an acceptable reason not to follow through with the transaction. Please do not bid if you are not willing to accept these terms. Thanks for looking!
