It gives a great, reliable, car like ride. With its gas saving, advanced, 16 valve SOHC engine and selectable 4 wheel drive, this vehicle has one of the highest gas mileages for its size (23MPG). Yet it is still very powerful with a towing capacity over 5000lbs. It is larger and more powerful than Honda CRV and Toyota Rav4 but gets almost the same gas mileage. And you can get this for about half the price you pay for those models. 2001 is an improved design with its re-engineered body and more fuel-efficient engines. He drove it 60 miles to work everyday, so most of the 185,650 miles are highway. It has always had oil changed every 2500 miles. The tires (BF Goodrich - $700)/ brakes and O2 sensor were all replaced recently. Vehicle description I used to prefer Honda CRV and BMW X5 for an SUV, but after using this SUV, I would chose Montero Sport instead. Since Mitsubishi does not do much marketing in the States, you can buy this great truck for half the average price. For the price, this is the best buy for a 4X4 SUV. It is reliable and low maintenance; drives like a car. Low wind / road noise. It can tow over 5000Lbs. MPG is best of its class. This is a great vehicle. I drove it long distances, in difficult weather conditions and it never let me down. It has always started even on the coldest days. I personally got about 23MPG highway comparing to most similar sized SUVs which will only get 16-18. This alone will save a good amount with today's high gas prices. It has a great, stylish design with a lots of advanced features. I occasionally get a catalytic converter emission code, there is no effect to the drivability buy if you wanted a new catalytic converter is around $250 and it can be put on in less than an hour. (Even though the code is not there any more, it might come back so I would like to mention it.) I scanned the vehicle computer and no errors were found other than that. I can scan the engine computer when you come to pick up the vehicle and and you can see. There is a small dent in the rear fender (please see the photo). For out of state buyers we will provide the title and a 31 day temporary permit so you can drive the vehicle home.
