This 1997 Mercury Villager has been donated to our non-profit organization, and we have not physically driven the vehicle ourselves. We understand that this Mercury runs and drives fine, has 139,754 miles on it, and has a NEW battery that was replaced in November 2010! The 6 cylinder engine runs great and gets good gas mileage, and the automatic transmission shifts well. The van has power windows, mirrors, etc... and the 7 passenger cloth interior is in nice condition (see pics)! The rear bench seat and the second row seats fold down for storage (again, see pics!). The cruise control, heater, and AM/FM stereo and cassette work well. The AC will need to be charged, but was also working well until last summer (easy fix!). We understand that the anti-lock braking system (ABS) went bad, and was disabled 2 years ago. This does not affect the driveability of the van, and it still stops fine. The brakes, tires, and exhaust are all in good condition. The power steering pump gets "stiff" in cold weather, but loosens up fine as soon as the engine warms up. There is a small crack in the upper right corner of the windshield. It is completely out of the line of sight, does not show in the pictures, and has NEVER been a problem. Also, the wiper motor just went out, and needs to be replaced (easy fix!).The rear hatch sticks when it's cold (winter only), and will not open with the key. The back glass opens fine, and AGAIN the liftgate only sticks when it is cold. We also understand that the passenger side rear view mirror casing is cracked, but the mirror works fine (easy replacement fix!). The windshield washer on the driver's side is off center. It still sprays, but not accurately (again, easy fix!).The back overhead light is burned out, and the rubber weaterstipping is starting to pull away from the back side windows. The locks also "jump" occasionally. These are very minor things, and should be VERY EASY to fix! This is the same vehicle as the Nissan Quest, and anyone that knows these vans knows that they run forever!
