Vehicle Detail

1953 Dodge B-4-B 1/2 ton truck. Older restoration, nearly completed in 2003 and then moved from CA to AZ took to car show and lost interest and then couldn't stand to get rid of it until now. This truck is nice but not perfect. Currently have problems getting it to run properly due to it sitting undriven for several months. I usually start it up every few weeks. But after a hard freeze this winter it has given me problems. I just rebuilt the carb this weekend but it is still acting up. The paint job that was new in 2003 has taken a beating from the Arizona sun and it needs a bit of work again. The truck has the old 218 inline 6 and the engine was replace by the gentleman I purchased the truck from in Nepomo, CA. I purchased the truck in Aug of 2001. The Gentleman I purchased the truck from said a farmers daughter in Santa Maria CA, sold it to him because her Father who had a failing memory was hotwiring it and driving it to strip clubs in town. The gentleman I bought it from said he was the second owner and claimed that the 94500 miles it had on it were the original miles. Also the gentleman that sold it to me had been using it in his tree nursery as a stump puller. The truck was originally green, so it is not the original color. Now you know all the history that I know about the vehicle. I drove the truck quite a bit before moving to Arizona about 800 miles worth, and the only problem I had was with a bad carb that I replaced in 2003 and the recently rebuilt but haven't yet tuned or been able to get the truck running yet. Still working on it I'll update if I get it going in the next day or two it just gets finicky from not being run enough. The truck is nice but not perfect the sheet metal is a bit tired and a fresh paint job would do it well, the clear coat has burnt through on the hood and top parts of the cab. Since I moved to Arizona I have only driven the vehicle about 175 miles total in the last 7 years. I hate to see it go but want someone to be able to enjoy this vehicle and its history. Included in the sale will be all spare parts I have for it, a shop manual, and a maybe a few old parts supply books (if I can find them around the house, I never throw any thing out but my wife does) for Dodge specific parts suppliers. Since it is a 1953 no warranty is given expressed or implied, vehicle is as is where is. When I checked the NADA Value it showed the truck to be worth about $7200. I expect payment within 7 to 10 days of auction close and you will have to arrange shipping if it is needed. On Mar-14-11 at 13:32:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: Truck is running but think new problem is with sticking float after taking it for a trip around the block. It was running well when I responded to an e-bayer last night with the question and now have new issue. It will run for a short time and then flood with gas running out of the stupid carb in large amounts. So, believe this to be a sticking float. I will not get this fixed by close of auction, and I doubt I will be able to attain a new float anytime soon, which goes back to my previous description of having problems running and as is where is. On Mar-15-11 at 08:54:39 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 15 Mar 0845AM: Took a good long look at carb and found problem. Hadn't put the small u shaped clip that holds float in place back in after rebuild of carb, so problem was minor but, is now solved. Truck is back to running status. Took for trip around the block and it ran well. It seems I've done more work on the truck since I decided to sell it than I had since I parked it in 2004. On another note the milage after the drive today is 95452.5. I'll update again if anything on the vehicle changes and answer any questions any of you may have. Still no warranty and as is where is, mainly due to the fact that it's a 1953.
