Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 A very classy Nash Metropolitan in custom lavender & white! This car will attract people from its fun size to its beautiful matching interior. Extensive mechanical work done as well. History – I purchased this car in April ’03 and have worked on it for several years. Believed to have <3400 miles on rebuilt engine, actual miles on car unknown. Engine – A rebuilt 1500cc engine was installed in 1989 by previous owner. The odometer was reset at that time. In 2004 I had the fuel pump rebuilt, new fuel lines installed and a rebuilt carburetor and starter motor from Metropolitan Pit Stop installed and replaced the oil pan gasket. Transmission – The entire clutch assembly was replaced and the flywheel was resurfaced in June ’03. The standard 4.22differential was changed out to a 3.90 differential in Oct ’03. The gearshift linkage was also adjusted at that time, but could still use some attention as the “throw” into second is short.. Brakes – The brakes were completely overhauled in 2000 and work well.Steering/Suspension – The steering linkage was completely rebuilt in Sep ’03 with new gaskets, tie rods and track rod ends and the leaf spring bushings were replaced. Electrical – wired positive to ground (original). Everything is in good working order. I had the radio rebuilt (it works) and replaced the heater control unit, turn signal/horn unit and horns with used, working units.. Interior – An all new interior (paint; upholstery; carpet; door panels; headliner; and sunvisors) was installed in July ’04 along with white seat belts. The radio knobs and door escutcheons are new (reproductions). The sunvisor mounting brackets and rods have been re-chromed. The ‘55 Met had no glove box door, but a matching glove box door and custom made hinge mounts as well as a new cardboard glovebox are included but not installed. Original aluminum door sills have some scuffs. Exterior - Beautiful new paint job in August ’04 in custom lavender & white – a few minor blemishes now. Also the paint in the rain gutter above the front windshield needs to be touched up. New “Metropolitan” scripts were installed on both sides of car (only one side is standard). New “M” insignia in front grille; New headlight rims; New tail light bezels. The tail lights themselves were modified to have a blue “dot” installed in them. There is a custom made spare tire cover to match interior. Spare tire/license plate holder is chrome plated. Nice, used SS side-strips were added and the front grill surrounds were replaced. The front clear parking light lenses have been replaced with amber ones. Tires – All five tires are in good condition with good tread. Glass – All the glass is good This is a sharp, fun car with a unique look that’s guaranteed to get you honks and waves as you cruise down the road. I hate to sell it, but I had my right leg amputated last year so can no longer drive any of the cars in my collection that have manual transmissions. It deserves to be driven and showed off!I am listing this car locally and reserve the right to cancel the auction before it ends.
