Vehicle Detail
I didn't want to sell this car. I bought this car as a replacement for my worn-out Chevy Corsica. I then drove it from my home in Little Rock, AR to Portland, OR over the winter. It got me safely through one of the worst snowstorms I'd ever been through, clocked 89MPH through Cajon Pass in California (according to the CHP officer), and carried me all the way back home in safety and luxury. Then, just a few weeks after I got home, the transmission went out. I cannot afford to keep this car and as much as it breaks my heart, I have to sell. I couldn't bear to just sell this car to a junk yard, so I'm listing it here, hoping someone can bring her back to life. The car has power everything, with lots of nice features including alloy wheels (most DeVilles I've seen have the steel wheels with hubcaps). At the moment the battery seems to have gone flat, but when parked the automatic trunk did work. Known issues with this car are as follows: *As I mentioned, the transmission is done for. Either a complete rebuild or a replacement is needed. I know of someone locally who can supposedly do it for $300 or so, but I can't promise that it's a good lead. If you're a competent mechanic or know one, you might be able to do it yourself. *The engine will need attention. She was running rough when parked. *The power steering line has a leak. I will include a new line ready to install if you plan to fix this car up. *The interior needs some TLC, but is dry and everything more or less is there. *The radio/ cassette player has been disconnected because it tends to blow fuses. I would recommend a new stereo. *The paint has seen better days, and the rear driver's side has slight damage. Also, the plastic on the front fenders is cracked. *The windshield is cracked. These cars often go for $5000 or more in good condition, you could probably invest $1000-2000 and make a $4000 car out of this. Please do not be afraid to make an offer. Just to be clear, this car will need to be trailered/towed!
