Vehicle Detail
800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This is Honda’s rarest standard superbike, or Universal Japanese Motorcycle (UJM) from the 90’s. This bike has the motor from the CBR1000, with the comfortable upright position of a standard, and looks that beat a Ducati. This bike looks good, sounds good, runs great. It’s a no stories bike, and I have not flogged it. This bike has 100 horsepower, 5 speeds, and will go like a scalded cat. It’s also comfortable for long rides. I’m in my mid-thirties and am a careful rider. A little on history: This bike is a true survivor—not made to look like something it’s not, no cheesy aftermarket fairings or bad repair work. This bike is all original and mechanically in great shape. Cosmetically, it’s a 7, and from 10 feet, it’s a 9. I still get comments about the bike all the time. I am the third owner and have owned it since 2005. I have put 20,000 or so of its current miles on it. I have all the maintenance records since my ownership began. Most recently, I have done a full service (last year, includes all fluids, valve adjust, plugs, etc.), new chain and sprockets only 500 miles ago, new CORRECT Dunlop tires with only 2000 miles on them (75% tread remaining), and a fork rebuild in late 2007. I have spent an average of $700 on this bike to maintain it each year I’ve owned it. It has one scuff on the tank and the turn signal stalks are getting old like they all do (they're plastic and rubber and tend to crack), but everything works and it sounds GREAT! This motor has had a little lifter tap since I've had it, no worries. I've ridden this bike cross country and you can ride it cross country NOW. This bike is a blast to ride, and comfy on trips. It also has tons of extras. You can’t buy the Vance and Hines setup for these bikes anymore, and it is a $1200 setup. I have the stock headers and pipe INCLUDED in brand new condition (a $400 value, conservatively). For sale separately for small money, I have the following goodies, negotiable: the stock Honda luggage rack that bolts onto the rear (rare and a $75 value), a brake rebuild kit with OEM parts ($50 value), Honda CB1000 service manual ($30 value), and a matching black sheepskin seat pad ($100). I have a kid on the way and the bike needs to go to a good home. It’s a great ride and there is NO other bike like it.This is a NO RESERVE auction--high bidder will TAKE THIS BIKE HOME. I am moving for my job from California to Maryland and have no wish to pay to transport the bike, so this sale needs to be completed as quickly as possible. The bike is available for viewing during this auction. I have posted all pics I have available. Good luck, and happy bidding!
