Vehicle Detail

Up for Auction, 1968 Dan Gurney Special Cougar. I purchased the car from the original owners daughter. The car has been garage kept most its life. It does not have any rust issues, whatsoever! Car was born in California, and stayed in Ca.I have had it for a little over 3 years. I have done some restoration work on her, here is the description/scope of what I have done and the condition. Suspension: All suspension and brakes have been replaced, new calipers, pads, brake hoses, wheel cylinders, hardware kits, upper and lower control arms, 620# drop springs, idler arm, tie-rod ends, power steering hoses, steering ram, bebuilt proportioning valve, Maier Racing rear leaf springs, panhard kit (not yet installed), 1-1/8" sway bar, Bilstein shocks at all corners, 1 piece export brace. Engine/Drivetrain: Rebuilt 69 351windsor engine built by Roseville Engine Machine, approximately 350-400hp, World brand Rousch cylinder heads,Keith Black Pistons, Edelbrock 750 cfm carb, MSD Ignition 6a module, blaster coil, MSD Distributor,Milodon deep sump oil pan w/ windage tray, ceramic coated headers. Rebuilt C4 transmission with TCI 2500 Streetfighter Stall converter, B&M shift kit, rebuilt 8" posi rear end with new ring, pinion, seals, bearings, etc. Interior: Newly rebuilt seats, new foam kit, new seat tracks, new carpet kit, this is possibly one of the nicest interiors that I have seen in a 68 Cougar, maybe I'm being biased, but it is very nice. Exterior: The paint was done about 4 years ago, it does look very good from 10 feet, but is not "show quality". It will have a rock chip or two, and maybe a ding or two, but overall is a very eye catching Cougar. All of the glass is in very good condition, with new windshield and rear window seals. All of the windows roll up with ease, I replaced regulators, lubed the tracks, and rollers. I completely undercoated the car with industrial grade undercoating. I replaced heater core and resealed heater/ ac box. The car also has an auxillary vacuum pump for the power brakes. The air conditioning currently needs to be recharged, but blows cold when charged. Overview: This is not a show car, but has serious potential, you will not find many nicer "driver quality" Cougars out on the road. All the trim pieces are in very good shape, with the exception of the rear trunk trim piece, which I may have replaced, if it meets a reserve. The bumpers could you a chrome dip, but are decent as they are. I don't think this car has ever been in an accident. Your chance to own a classic cougar. Please ask any questions prior to bidding, I reserve the right to end auction early. Thanks for your interest. On Feb-01-11 at 06:51:34 PST, seller added the following information: All the above work was performed less than 1000 miles ago.
