1963 Professionally Built Nova Pro Street This is as probably one of the nicest and most well built Chevy Nova Pro Street cars you will ever find and have the opportunity to purchase. I have all the paperwork from the original invoice when the car was sold new through the transformation of the car to Pro Street status in 2006. It is extremely rare to see a car with a paper trail like this one carries with it. Here is a bit of the history of this very nice Chevy Nova Pro Street. The car was sold brand new on January 9,1963 at Dworin Chevrolet for the price of $2,464.95! I have the original invoice for the purchase that will accompany the sale of the car. It was obviously kept in a garage since the body has not rust whatsoever. There is absolutely no evidence of the car ever being or receiving body damage anywhere that I can find. The body is straight as an arrow! In 2005 the decision was made to restore the car and at the same time transform the car to a nice classic appearing Pro Street car. Tubbed 16 Gallon Fuel Cell Rear Frame Rails Ladder Bars Rear 4 Link Coil Over Suspension Heidts Rack and Pinion Front End with Tubular Polished Upper and Lower A Arms Moser Engineering 9” Rear End with Strange S/T 31 Spline Axles and 456 Gear Strange Nodular 3rd Member New 28 Spline Pinion Yoke New Drive Shaft Iditit Polished Tilt Steering Column After the transformation at Steve Baker Race Cars the car was off to Ground Up Restorations in Meriden, CT where it received the following: New Windshield Wiper Motor New Inside Door Handles New Vent Window Handles New Window Cranks New Window Felt Kit New Quarter Glass Seals New Windshield Weather Stripping New Rear Glass Weather Stripping New Vent Window Weather Stripping New Roof Drip Molding Set New Lenses for all Outside Lights All New Side Glass So now it was time for some serious power to be installed but at the same time be streetable and able to run on pump gasoline. The choice was made to go with a Chevy small block 383 with a few added goodies like Air Flow Research Aluminum Heads, Weiand 177 Series Pro Street Supercharger and a single Holley Double Pump Carb. The engine was put on the dyno and cranked out 578 HP. Not bad for a street car! A 350 Turbo Transmission with a 3500 Stahl Converter were added along with a Hurst Ratchet Shifter. But the car also needed to stop well so the rear end received slotted and drilled power disc brakes to accompany the front disc brakes. The car received all new stainless and chrome trim after it was painted to really set the car off. The wheels chosen for the car were Billet and were around $4,000 alone! The underside of this car is as clean as the outside. No leaks, No Grease, just a very nice clean car. Like I mentioned before, I have a ton of paper history on this car and receipts on the build which total over $45,000! And that doesn’t include the price of the car originally.
