Vehicle Detail

1970 Datsun Series One Zcar. This is an original early April '70 car that was undergoing a complete authentic restoration. Car was originally a mechanic owned vehicle that was undergoing restoration when I purchased it on fathers day '04 with the intent of completing... that now has come to pass. Work included when I purchased this vehicle: engine removed and broken down to the block, reassembled and on standcomplete engine compartment detailing, hydrolic lines, brakes, suspension, tie rods and shocks, master cylinder Body is in very good condition for a first year edition 240z Datsun. It is a Florida car Work included when I owned this vehicle: Front hood, fenders NOS (purchased from the excess Nissan Buy Back program in the '90s)Complete engine break down, rebuild to factory spec's by a local Nissan tech while at Sutherlin Nissan, Fort Myers Fl New pumps, alternator, rebuilt distributor, air cleaners and rebuilt carbs are all original. NISSAN 2400 OHC valve cover (polished) Original High Compression Head was machined slightly, valves removed cleaned, then ported, new headersParts which were upgraded: rebuilt 1971 seats (improved) have original framesNOS matching interior door panelsRear hatch, drivers and passengers doors off a series one Arizona car, matching, all original specs (rust free)NOS front bumper, rear center portion bumper, exterior handles upgraded exterior signal/driving and rear brake lenses through out, original fiberglass head lamp buckets All original badges, two (2) pot metal painted Z emblems excellent used , door thrush plates.. NOS door window seals 1970's era Original Shelby Viper rims with Brigestone radials Just a note here. These Authentic Shelby Viper rims are what could have been a dealer option in the early seventies. They were purchased from another zcar enthusiast who used them for a show car. These are a remarkable find as are many of the NOS items I acquired for the completion of this vehicle. Most of which are no longer available and haven't been for some time now. I also have the original MIJ unused spare tire. Rust areas are limited and are typical to lower wing panels, rear wheel surrounds. Floor panels and battery tray are solid and sound as is entire front of the car which is undercoated throughout. Absolutely no rust on the frame or rails. Basically the car is ready for paint and re assembly with the minor details of carpet and weather seals to be completed by the new owner. Engine compartment was painted a deep metallic (Dupont) Grey prior to all of the work completed. The original color was a light yellow which if you are inclined, could also be restored by repainting the engine compartment. The mechanical's are all in order. They include all new brakes, suspension, hydrolics, clutch plate/clutch. Front right brake was never reassembled but is complete. Transmission is a later '72 model, overhauled as the original was torched. Vehicle shows 6500 miles and for all purposes is accurate to what I understand in term of cars present condition. I have the original series one Non Slotted steering wheel which I purchased as an upgrade on Ebay. Many two of a kind parts such as the carb heat shields and air filter housing assemblies, chrome trim glass, both door glass, wing panels... ect. Car is complete with the exception of the minor details including interior rear area. This is no reserve auction but if you have a offer in mind, contact me and we can talk. Car is located in Fort Myers, Fl and the moving and carting charges are upon you and a shipper directly. 12,000 of these cars were produced for the US market in 1970. The high compression head was history by 1971 due to emission standards as are many of the details unique to the first year series one edition vehicles. How many of these early cars remain is a good question. This is an excellent example of a series one Zcar. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the car is also available for sale on a local Zcar internet site in FloridaOn Mar-02-11 at 09:57:19 PST, seller added the following information: Dear zcarzzzzz, bin was 5500.00 I will entertain 5000. - 40zerOn Mar-03-11 at 08:16:52 PST, seller added the following information: Dear cancobra, vehicle vin is HLS-30-10753. engine was placed back and tested to run. will require add'l assembly to drive (hydrolics) - 40zerOn Mar-04-11 at 09:41:30 PST, seller added the following information: Dear vp-17, according to the web address... you are correct. five months older - 40zer
