Vehicle Detail

1952 Jaguar MK 7, big brother to the XK 120. These cars are very hard to find in any decent condition. This car I would guess, after much research, to be among the best top ten examples in existence today. It has spent most of its life garaged and currently has just 38,087 miles. The last time it was on the road was in 1985, when the original owner's son-in-law bought it and placed it in dry storage. He was a mechanic and "pickled" the motor with a military grade solution designed to preserve engines in long term storage. The car was advertised locally for 10,000.00 and was in Garden City, Utah, next to Bear Lake. My business in Salt Lake City, Utah specializes in finding nice examples of classic Mercedes, Jaguar, and Porsche for refurbishing or restoration. Most of my feedback on e-Bay, from buyers, are people who have bought great examples of these cars from me. This car is a very rare find, and you hardly ever see one for sale in this condition. The early Jaguars like the XK 120 and the MK 7, had the cleanest and most beautiful lines. Jaguar unfortunately began placing more and more chrome on their cars after these marks, and started making the cars more and more boxy. A nice example of an XK 120 is always more desireable than an XK140 or 150. And the MK 7 is the best of the saloons with its flowing lines and minimal chrome. The engine in this car started right up after we drained the pickling solution and put fresh oil in. The exterior needed repaint, mostly due to the paint being so old with some flaking and cracking. There was virtually no rust whatsoever on this car. The front driver's seat had a small rip in it so the bottoms of both front seats were replaced with new matching leather. The carpeting and headliner was replaced due to the material being weakened by age. The door panels and most of the leather in the car are original from when the car was new. The wood has never been touched and is in great condition. We went through the brakes and re-conditioned and honed the wheel brake cylinders. The car runs and drives as it did when it was new. The spare tire is the original Dunlop spare, which looks like it has never been used. The rest of the tires were replaced only because of aged cracked rubber. The new tires are the finest radial wide white wall tires available today. This is a very rare investment grade car with a low starting bid and no reserve. Anyone is welcome to inspect the car anytime. Transportation from and to the airport can be provided at no charge. Free delivery assistance i.e. getting the car loaded locally and secured, etc. will be provided as well. I will send more pictures to any provided e-mail address. A $500.00 deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of auction with remaining balance due wintin 7 days of the auction's end date. Thank you for your interest.
