A former GM stylist once said the new design was "one full styling wave" ahead of other Detroit offerings that year. The front-end styling had more character than the rather flat 1964 face. The chassis was lowered which helped with a better center of gravity and the sharply defined lower-body sculpturing added a more rakish stance to give it an even sportier appearance. Due to a GM policy that prohibited engines over 400 cid in intermediates, the GTO had to make do with the division's 389-cid V-8, while the Catalina could be optioned with Pontiac's 421-cid monster motor. This 1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertible is finished in beautiful Burgundy, black interior, and white top. This rare southern classic underwent a frame-off professional every nut and bolt restoration including Exterior, Interior, Chrome, Top, Mechanics and all new wiring of the entire car to factory specifications.
