Vehicle Detail

I DO NOT HAVE THE STORAGE FOR THESE GETTING TOO OLD TO FINISH ALL MY PROJECTS, AND THEY NEED A GOOD DRY HOME THIS WINTER. I bought this a year ago in Utah from a body/fender craftsman who found it in Nevada as a running driving car. After He hauled it home, it was partially dismantled to begin a complete restoration, to give to his wife for a driver. Hard times hit and He lost his job, and had to part with it. The engine is the V8 with optional 4 barrel carb, and is only partially bolted in, as it was removed to clean and paint the engine compartment. I went out to try to start it up last weekend, hotwired it up and it turned over fine and seemed to be as the previous owner stated, although I had a weak spark. As I was heading into the shop to get my point file, the snowstorm hit and I just closed up the tent to wait for warmer days. The other reason work was stopped, was that both lower rear quarter panels were bad around the wheel openings and they are not reproduced for this year and no used ones were to be found in Utah. He cut out the a section on each side of the center ribbed support in the trunk, maybe 30 inches square to prepare for 2 panels to be wire welded in. There is no need to replace the whole trunk floor. The driveline from the parts car will have to be used for the convert, as it was lost along the way. I have tried to be realistic about a starting price, given these hard times, this is a no reserve auction and my starting price is far below my investment, let alone hauling it back when purchased and the cost of the parts car. He found several sedans and cut small sections (included) to patch the hard way if necessary. Since I purchased it last year, it has sat in storage while I searched for 1/4 panels as well. RECENTLY I FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THE BUICKS NEEDS: I purchased a complete running 2 door 1964 with pretty decent quarter panels and really nice other parts, although it is the V6 engine, not the optional V8 4V that the Convert has, although the Convert has a good engine in it. THIS PARTS CAR IS INCLUDED IN THE sale. The parts car has bad floorboards and missing seats, but after hooking up a gas can to the fuel pump to bypass the old gas in the tank, it started right up, sounded great and was driven around the lot and onto my trailer, although the brakes needed help. The convertible has clear title and the parts car is with bill of sale and former owners signed lost title form. http://picturehosting.com/gallery.php?u=show1969&g=skylark-rust-damage The convertible will need both right and left trunk panels replaced (same as Chevelle and about $150 or less, through many dealers.) The gas tank got lost along the way. The windshield has a crack but the parts car has a good one, but with a smll rock chip. A NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP IS INCLUDED, AND ALL TRIM PIECES ARE VERY GOOD. THE TOP FRAME IS NICE AND STRAIGHT, NO RUST UNDER WINDSHIELD OR TRUNK TO REAR WINDOW AREA AS IN MOST OF THIS SERIES, and inner trunk wheel wells look good as far as I can see. GOOD FLOORS, GOOD CARPETS, OPTIONAL BUCKET SEATS AND CONSOLE, DRIVERS SEAT CUSHION WORN AND HAS SUN BLEACHED SEATS, BUT USABLE AND AVAILABLE THRU LEGENDARY UPHOLSTERY VERY REASONABLE. ENGINE HAS NOT RUN IN ABOUT 5 YEARS, SHOULD BE OK. THIS WILL BE A HIGH DOLLAR CAR WHEN FINISHED AS IT IS GETTING TO BE VERY RARE AND IS A FAIRLY EASY PROJECT WITH SOME WELDING SKILLS, AND WITH THE PARTS CAR HAS EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF TO FINISH, aside for perhaps some small items,PLUS THE PARTS CAR SHOULD BRING GOOD MONEY FOR IT'S PARTS LEFT OVER, as it has very nice bumpers, grille, fenders, and trunk lid. It is almost a shame to cut up the parts car, as the convert wheel wells could be patched without it's quarter panels...but? THANKS FOR LOOKING. NOTICE: BIDS WITH 0 FEEDBACK WILL BE REJECTED. PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO DO THIS OVER DUE TO NON-RESPONCE FROM 0 FEEDBACK BIDDER. SORRY, BUT IT IS A PAIN AND THESE RIGS ARE HERE TO SELL. CAR CAN BE SEEN AT MY WORK: Alleycat Surplus 12255 SE 282nd Ave. Boring, Or. 97009 503-663-1531
