*** DOCUMENTED TRUE SS CHEVELLE *** 1970 CHEVY CHEVELLE SS 396 L34 Z25 PACKAGE Up for auction is a true piece of American history. This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 396 is the epitome of classic American muscle. She was manufactured in Canada with supporting documentation from Chevrolet vintage archive records of Canada. This car maintains much if not all of it's original iron and looks outstanding. This car has not been restored at all and sits in it’s original condition except for the repainting of the exterior, “91,032 original miles”. CRANBERRY RED WITH BLACK STRIPES, BLACK INTERIOR, 2 DOOR HARDTOP - LOOKS STUNNING. The paint and body are in excellent condition with no major flaws. The car has been repainted to the cranberry red color from the original color prior to my ownership. There are a couple of chips and nicks here and there from driving it but all are very small and have been touched up with professionally matched paint. The interior is original except for a newly replaced dash and dash pad and new rear deck lid. Original radio is not present but new dash is right for factory cutouts for original radio application. Bump the key and breath to life this Bowtie Big Block 396, has tons of power and sounds unstoppable, Engine is correct 396 big block but is non-matching number, engine DynoJet data is available. Fully functional cowl induction air cleaner system. 4 SPEED transmission, original transmission is present but not in vehicle, new liberty transmission is installed with less then 500 miles on it. The rims on the car appear to be from the earlier 1965-1969 year version and are not the original rims. The undercarriage is completely original and is very solid. It is not the cleanest or prettiest you have ever seen but it is original and very sound. I have many original correct year dealer paperwork that goes with it such as dealer brochure, owners manual, original commercial video, etc. CAR IS CURRENTLY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN IN GARAGE. Original transmission casing comes with the vehicle, Photos of original casing available upon request. Vehicle does have air shocks presently installed to accomodate the larger rear tires. Original Rear Defrogger does come with vehicle, I did not put it back in after I replaced the rear deck lid. The original rear deck lid had them 6X9 speaker cut outs and shag carpeting, lol. You can check the vintage documentation and see that this was an extra option listed on the build, Option C50 Rear Window Defogger. I also have a DVD of the original 1970 TV commercial, very cool.
