Vehicle Detail

2001 Honda VT750 Shadow ACE - Vehicle ID #jh2rc44721k500123 - No Reserve Auction Preface: This is a vehicle donated to charity, being sold as is, with no reserve, to the highest bidder. I'm not the owner of the vehicle, however, I'm assisting the charity in the sale of the vehicle, as the receipt of a motorcycle donation is rather rare. The charity benefits First Presbyterian Church of Roseville. Description: A 2001 Honda VT750 Shadow ACE (American Classic Edition), with 15,400 miles; this bike is pretty clean, fires right up, runs great, and comes with some real nice extras, including: Mustang Seats two-piece, studded, wide touring seat MAPAM Motorcycle backrest, with optional luggage rack LeatherLyke saddlebags Lo-Boy staggered aftermarket exhaust... Don't know the brand -- sounds nice, but a bit loud for me; baffles are removable, so could be repacked. NC Switchblade, 2-up, clear windshield, with chrome lowers (lowers not mounted) Kuryakyn ISO-Grips, with throttle boss 1" handlebars, mounted to 2.5" risers... Don't know the brand of either, but the approximate measurements of the bars is 36" width, 9.5" center, 4" rise, and 11" pullback Stebel Nautilus compact air horn The bike looks good, but there are a few flaws to note, all of which are pictured below: Tires: time for new ones as there is hardly any tread left at all and the wear makes the handling a bit clumsy (I'm a sport bike rider, so maybe I'm just not used to the squishy handling of a cruiser, however, even with that said, new tires would drastically improve the handling) Left side body panel: scuff marks from the plastic key ring having rubbed against it and, above that, a 1/4" scuff/scratch Right side body panel: a scuff (quarter size) and some clear "goober" stuff, about an inch long (can barely see in close-up picture, but it is there) Chrome rims: has surface rust and a little pitting Chrome radiator cover: has surface rust and pitting on lower half Left side saddlebag: has some repaired cracks on the bike side of the bag (ie, not very noticeable), which didn't seem to effect the rigidity of the bag (ie, these are ABS bags, with leather "like" covering) Speedometer lens: there is tiny scuff, which I'm fairly certain could be buffed out And last, but not least... Water pump and underside left frame rail: there is a drip leak of coolant coming from the water pump cover, which is located on the underside of the engine, directly next to the right side frame rail (almost no clearance between the two). It appears the owner had hit the underside of the frame on a rock curb, causing the frame and water pump to collide hard enough to crack the water pump cover. Cost of the parts to repair is fairly low (water pump cover and o-ring is approximately $60, see here), but paying for labor to repair would not be; the owner stated this is the primary reason for the donation of the vehicle. FYI... An attempt to repair using J/B Weld was made, but it doesn't seem the weld compound made it over the entire crack (again, very tight tolerance between pump and frame rail). Again, this is a donated vehicle, so I don't have intimate knowledge on the history of the motorcycle, but if you want a cruiser/tourer, with quite a few extra goodies, and aren't afraid of the repair, cost of tires, and can do some TLC then this is the bike for you. Now the Flaws... Legalese... Vehicle is sold as is -- no warranty is expressed or implied I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with zero or negative feedback at my discretion Winning bidder must pay $200 deposit in cash or verified by PayPal within 24 hours of the close of auction -- if not received, then the vehicle will be relisted or offered to the second highest bidder Winning bidder must pay balance due in cash or authorized cashiers check within 7 days of the close or prior to sign over of certificate of title, whichever is sooner -- if not received, then the bidders deposit is forfeited and the vehicle will be relisted or offered to the second highest bidder Upon receipt of full payment, the Certificate of Title will be handed/transitioned to the new owner Upon receipt of full payment, the winning bidder is responsible for picking up the vehicle or related transportation thereof -- if flying into SMF I can meet you at the airport, if using a transport service, I can provide a reasonable level of assistance in making the vehicle available Thank you for viewing -- Let the bidding begin!
