Vehicle Detail

1975 Porsche 914 2.0 I had several folks looking to purchase this car after the listing ended just a couple hundred dollars short of the reserve. I am relisting so you have the chance to purchase this great little sportcar. If you are looking at this listing then you know all about this type of sportscar. If you don't, I would advise to read a few articles about them. I have not run the car for two months and went out there today and it started right up. Just as it always had done in the past. I hate to part with it but these cars need time and attention. Two things I don't have right now. Condition: Over all very good. Exterior: It is really straight with one ding on the front top driver side quarter panel about the size of a silver dollar. The worst part about the body is the paint. The front and rear hood clear coat has mostly peeled away and faded the paint. The photo of the front hood is about six months old and the clear coat has since peeled more. Very little rust on this car. The "Hell Hole" is in great condition and has no issues. The area where the engine cover hinges attach has had issues and had a temp repair done there. Other than that there are a few small places with some surface rust. Most of these cars have rust somewhere unless it has been media blasted to metal and dipped. Interior: Is in fair condition. The seats are real good with a small tear in the driver seat near the bottom left side. The dash looks good and I think is has a cover on it. It is hard to tell. The material between the dash and window has shrunk and needs to be replaced. The back bolster pad on the driver side by where the seat belt crosses is worn and torn. I have a replacement for it that is included with the car. The door panels are pretty good. I have replaced one but haven't gotten to the second one yet. It is included also. The passenger door opens from the inside only. I don't believe the outside latch is broken. This car is equipped with Stock Porsche mirrors on both driver and passenger side like a 914-6. Not replicas. All of the lights and lenses are in good condition as well as the wipers. The high beam relay needs to be replaced. Is also has stock fog lights. The front and rear bumpers are the old style lighter bumpers. I think they look way better and weight much less than the big Rubber guys! The front windshield will need to be replaced because it has one cateye on the driver side. The speedometer works but the odometer doesn't. So..I am not sure of actual miles. Mechanical: This car does not drip any oil. (get your jaw off the ground). I have owned 6 Porsches and they all dripped. Even my 86' Carrera. The 2.0 engine runs strong and has an aftermarket aircleaner for better air flow. The exhaust needs a weld at the muffler. The throttle body assembly was recently gone through and at the same time all of the gas lines and fuel pump were replaced under the gas tank. I have had no issues smogging in Nevada. The battery is two years old. The heater and fans work. The transmission and shift linkage have NO issues at all. The rear brakes were recently gone through with new rotors, pads, bled and one new and one rebuilt caliper. The front brakes are fine. The suspension has been lowered prior to me buying the car in 2005. The shocks are Koni from what I can see. It rides like a Go Kart. Wheels: They are the four spoke Fuchs for the 2.0 series car. The tires are 50 series which I hate but they were on the car when I bought it. They need to be replaced because they are worn and starting to crack from old age. The wheels are in great shape. The spare is a standard steel wheel spare tire. I have many extra parts for the car as well as the stock air cleaner and rear anti sway bar. Did I mention this has a front anti sway bar? It does. If you lived close enough and we don't have any snow or bad weather you could drive this home today with no worries if you replaced the tires. That is my only worry for driving this car right now. I have the original manual for the car plus many repair receipts and I will also include a couple of repair manuals and tech tips I have printed from the web. Also included is a very used car cover, Front end Bra and two keys. I have owned this car since June 2005 and have probably driven it less than 1,000 miles. I wish I had the time. This is a used car so no warranties are included or implied. I have done my best to describe the vehicle as best as I can. If you have questions please email me. I will assist to get the car to a local shipper. The buyer WILL assume all responsibility for cost of shipping and insurance of the vehicle from the moment of purchase. $500 Deposit through PayPal or full payment within three days following the close of auction Please. Thank you! Pretty funny Pic. You could almost fit the 914 in the back seat of the Lincoln.
