The car spent its early life between Michigan and Illinois, but is a totally solid and rust free car, obviously always garaged and rarely driven in the snow. The car came to Arizona around 2001 where it was senior owned up until recently when its owner passed away. He took extensive care of the car and always garaged it. The paint on the car is still finished in its original color of Pearl Gray Metallic and is in very good condition. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any well cared for garaged car should be. The car has had one high quality repaint done about 8 years ago which was done by a local Mercedes dealer here in Phoenix. The car was completely de-trimmed for paint, so it looks as good as the factory original job! All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape. The car looks almost as nice as the day it rolled off the Mercedes lot. The interior is in very nice original condition all around. The dash and door panels are in very nice condition. The grey leather seats are all in very good condition and look very nice with no rips or ware lines, which shows the quality of leather used in this car. All wood grain is in very nice condition, which can be seen in the pictures. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. The car also still has the original Mercedes floor mats. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. The sound system is also very nice with the Becker sound system. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, tools, and the original spare tire and wheel which appears to never have been mounted or ever touched the pavement! The only item not working is the power seatbelt extender on the passenger side, but drivers side works flawlessly. Mechanically, this SEC runs GREAT! I have owned nearly 20 80's era Mercedes vehicles, and this car blows the doors off all of them! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. The V8 engine is very quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The 5.6L V8 has been Mercedes workhorse engine for nearly 30 years, so you know it is just plain reliable. The suspension is very tight and feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 90mph, and is claimed to have a top speed of 140 MPH! The car was always regularly serviced every 4,000 miles and shows all services up to about 80k always performed by Mercedes dealers in the service booklet. The son of the previous owner states the transmission, all brakes, and full fuel system (tank, fuel pumps, and injectors) have been redone in the last 3 or 4 years, but receipts were lost when going through his late fathers estate. Judging by how smooth and leak free this car is I would have to agree that they have been done. I also just personally spent over $600 having the power steering pump and steering box resealed so that the car is tight as a drum with no fluid leaks! The car will include 1 key, tools, spare tire, and owners manuals. The owners manual packet is fully complete with all original manuals, parts book, and pamphlets. All in all, this is one of the cleanest and nicest SECs that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
