Vehicle Detail

Vehicle is being sold in light of a new vehicle arriving in March. Primary family vehicle since purchased new in 1996 from a local dealership where it has been serviced on a regular basis. Collector's Edition model with a burgandy exterior making it rather unique among available vehicles in the marketplace. Interior of vehicle was scotchgarded immediately and periodically thereafter to ensure that the interior carpets remained stain-free. Third row of seats fold to the side to allow for easy access. Vehicle was never off-roaded with no exterior rust. Tow hitch included. Sun roof, running boards and roof rails/cross rails. 1997 was the last year of the old body style that is preferred by many. Toyota's flagship sport utility is a descendant of the 1950 BJ, a vehicle based on the World War II Willys Jeep. The BJ was the first motor vehicle to reach the sixth station of Mount Fuji, and ever since the Land Cruiser has been known throughout the world for its abilities off-road and on. In the early '60s the Land Cruiser was Toyota's best-seller in the U.S. The station wagon debuted in 1967, and was noteworthy for being comfortable to drive on pavement. Today's Land Cruiser is the third generation of the station wagon, debuting in 1991. While much of the rest of the world knows the Land Cruiser as a Spartan utility vehicle, in America it is decidedly upscale with amenities to rival any luxury car. Land Cruiser is the only mass-produced vehicle to offer optional locking front, center, and rear differentials, and even though most owners will never venture off pavement, they can still have the capability of negotiating just about any road . . . or lack thereof. Overall user reviews for the 1997 Toyota Landcruiser were 9.1 with higher ratings for styling and quality. The 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser saw very few changes for the model year, as a redesign was in the works for the following year. The most notable change was the addition of an optional two-person third seat, supplementing the three-person third seat option. The 1997 Land Cruiser has a 4.5-liter, 212 horsepower six cylinder. A four-speed automatic was the only available transmission. The 1997 Land Cruiser has a permanently engaged four-wheel-drive system. Fuel economy is about 12/14 mpg. The car handles well in bad weather, but also had plenty of cargo space for kids and gear alike.
