Vehicle Detail
I am only listing this cause I walked by it today taking pictures and thinking why not list this since I haven't had it running in 5 years. It is all original and the tank is not rusted through as I had it running and driving 5 years ago and then drained the fuel completely. It was was won by a 60 year old man in 1970 from the local Honda dealer in a giveaway and I have all the paper work including the original title and owners manual. The bike was driven for 1 or two years by his college age daughter and then stored away in the garage till I bought it about 10 years ago when he was in his 90's. The seat is perfect and a few scratches on the tank and some pitting on the front fender. I replaced the front tire from dry rot of the original. Even the original battery is still in it and not leaking. I haven't tried to add gas and start it but it was running when I empty the tank and ran the carb dry 5 years ago. What's this worth these days as I had one like it when I was 11 in 1970. Ok, I already had someone tell me it was a 1969 but the original title say 1970. So a number of people tell me this is a 1969 so you be the judge. It has never been modified or changed in any way. I went and dug out all the original paperwork. This is unbelievable documentation. I have the original sales contract(even though he had won it) dated June 22, 1970. Purchase price was $260. Then I have the Honda warranty card for this bike and the card not tore off the page of all the Honda instructions. Then I have the Honda service History they gave him showing the prep and nothing else so far on Honda warranty. Then the mint original owners manual. One original Honda key with lock # and finally the Nebraska title from June 24, 1970 showing it is a 1970 model Honda Z50-K1. If you would like I would be able to hand this original 1970 title over to the new owner as it was signed over by his daughter with POA since he died 10 years ago. The title is left open in the buyer section. I'll try and get more pictures posted up but it doe snot have have a foot brake on the RH side. Shipping is the next problem as I don't know how you do it but they will fold down pretty far but that is the buyers responsibility to arrange. Here is the info off of the Build plate on the neck area under the headlight. Z50A-234373 Build date in upper right hand corner is 10/69 The original spark plug wrench is attached under the seat and probably never taken out. The original Honda TEL key with Honda wing is stamped T9879. I could not locate where the engine serial number is as this thing is very dusty after 40 years of setting in a garage. The baffle exhaust shields chain shield and everything appears to be in good shape not rusted and in place from the factory. I see one scratched are on the drivers side of the tank mainly in the lower burgundy but slightly up onto the silver. Seat is not torn or worn at all and clearly says HONDA on the back. Even has all the decals in tact everywhere. There is a plug I presume missing out of the back of the headlight housing about 3/4 of an inch. I will also note that in the righthand side picture the tank is just dirty in the silver area behind the wing. I think the bike will actually wash up and polish up nicely. I have over 25 questions to respond to tonight on this Honda so I am trying to wrap them all in with this explanation and some more pictures. I'll keep posting them as new ones come in so everyone hears the same thing. SHIPPING POSSIBILITY: I HAVE A FRIEND AND IS WIFE HEADING TO DALLAS FEBRUARY 18TH FROM YORK, NE. THIS IS SOUTH ON US 81 THROUGH CONCORDIA, SALINA,THEN ON 35 SOUTH TO WITCHITA, OKLAHOMA CITY, AND ON SOUTH TO DALLAS AREA FOR THE WEEKEND. I HAVEN'T CONFIRMED IT WITH HIM BUT $100 CASH GAS MONEY FOR HIS TROUBLE WOULD PROBABLY GET IT DROPPED OFF ALONG THIS ROUTE IF YOU WERE WILLING TO MEET THEM NEAR THIS ROUTE OR ARRANGEMENTS TO MEET NEAR DALLAS. LET ME CONFIRM WITH HIM IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS OPTION B4 PLANNING ON IT AND BIDDING. On Feb-12-11 at 15:49:02 PST, seller added the following information: Ok anyone who wants it delivered in from central Nebraska to Dallas, Texas I have a deal for you. I have verified with my coworker that he can deliver this bike Friday February 18 to Dallas Ft Worth area by late afternoon. He will be driving his Tahoe and would load it in the back and leave about 05:00 but would prefer to meet anyone along the route on US 81 at York, NE south through Kansas and on the I-35 route and through Oklahoma City early afternoon and into Dallas by later afternoon. It will be located in the Ft Worth - Weatherford TX area to pick up after that. I will require full payment for the bike before it is shipped either by wire transfer or verifiable bank cashiers check to me by Thursday. February 17th. I might consider full payment by paypal but the money transfer would be best before it leaves my place. My friend will deliver this anywhere along the route or PU at Weatherford, TX for $100 cash only and should be paid directly to him at pickup. Also I have had some requests for inside tank pictures and I just cant get them to come out as it's too dark to see anything. The tank is not rusted through anywhere and has not been sealed or lined before. I had it running and oil changed 7 or 8 years ago and drained all the fuel and ran it till it was dry before storing it. I also left the cap off for a while to let the tank air out then. There is no corrosion showing underneath the tank and the drain valve turns fine. The tires are dry rotted where it sat with flat tires from 1971 till about 2002. But they still hold air when filled. Also I got the serial number off the engine and it reads: Z50 AE 224245 Hope this answers all the extra questions not answered before. Good luck as someone is going to get a real time capsule of a well documented and very little used toy stored away from 1969. On Feb-12-11 at 20:41:49 PST, seller added the following information: Had several people tonight ask if they paid for it right away if it could be picked up in the spring. I have no problem storing it for 6 months or so. It must be paid in full after purchase and it would remain in my building but I am not responsible for any damage or theft if a break in or a disaster like a tornado or fire would occur. The title and paperwork can be sent to the new owner after full payment and it would be their responsibility to have it insured if they desired.
