Vehicle Detail

Introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt International Auto Show as a new model, the air cooled 911 went on to become the iconic German sports car and was produced from 1965 through 1989 in multiple models. Many people feel the SC (Super Carrera) produced from 1978 thru 1983 represents the best value based on a balance of durability, power and contemporary performance. Many SC models have traveled 200,000–400,000 miles before needing major engine service. This car is what is known as a “Survivor Car”, having never been restored and remaining in excellent original condition. It is the 816th Targa produced of the 1,430 cars produced for the 1983 US market and has traveled a total of 44,625 miles since being built in November of 1982. The car has effectively been in storage since 2002, recording a total of 4,500 miles in the last nine years. I obtained it via the PCA from the family that owned it since 1998. It has recently undergone a complete 45K service, and due to its limited usage a complete check and refurbishment of all systems was completed to ensure that everything is operational and in good working order. Beyond low mileage there are other factors that make the car somewhat unique. The color (Chiffon White) is unique and was used in only a few years. It is also equipped with several other options and features: · Carrera Chain Tensioner Upgrade · Airbox Pop-Off Valve · Heated Rear Window · Blacked Out Trim · Color Coded Headlight Rims · Dunlop SP 8000 Summer Tires · Toyo Observe Garity KX Studless Ice and Snow Winter Tires · Alpine Stereo, Alarm and CD Changer · Navigation · Floor Mats · Fitted California Car Cover The bottom line for Porsche enthusiasts is the fun-to-drive factor. The 911 switched to a liquid cooled engine in 1999 with the advent of the 996 and 997 models and the introduction of other new Porsche models such as the Boxster and Cayman. All are unique in their own right and excellent cars, but nothing can match an open top Sunday drive in rear engine air cooled 911 - experiencing the sounds and unique handling that God and Ferdinand Porsche intended. Buyer arranged shipping. A $500 deposit is required and remaining payment via a certified or cashier’s check within 5 days.
