Vehicle Detail
Relisted so cheap because I don't want to renew my tags and insurance1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe nosed, shaved, decked, SATIN paint (not gloss, not flat)****DO NOT KNOW IF MILEAGE IS EVEN CLOSE TO ACCURATE**** short story: just as it looks in pictures (except sun glare..see note at bottom) but doesn't run and is now dirty from the snow and can't wash it...my hose is frozen long story: I bought this car when it was siting in a field for likely decades and did a lot of sanding as it had a load of surface rust, primer-ed it with a roller, rebuilt the master cylinder, ran a new fuel line and tank, bought a battery, and drove it back and forth to work for about 3 months (not for any reason other than it was fun). I then decided I was tired of the mildew smell and having to worry about thing falling thru the floor. So I fiberglassed the floor, then the quarters where they were rusted thru. That led to nosing it (removing center trim and welding the two halves of the hood together), shaving the door handles (no poppers...old school...push the wing window open reach in and grab the door handle), and decking it (removing the big dumb honkin handle off the deck lid). Then I gutted the interior, scored some decent velor seats for the front and built a wooden bench for the rear and made some door panels and added a super cool state of Massachusetts inspection "REJECTED" sticker and super cool (although not very well applied) red gasser style tint on side windows. Then I decided it needed paint so I went with satin as my body work is not perfect enough for gloss but good enough that I wanted something I could wash so flat was not an option. I happily cruised it for about 6 months. Then I messed up, forgot to put antifreeze in it in last December and the block cracked. So I bought a complete turnkey 235 to go in it. I started to take out the deceased 216 but for whatever reason I somehow got derailed when my son became old enough try my other passion...ATV's. After not touching the car for a year almost I figure it is time to let it go so it can be really cool ride for someone else to rock. The good:-shaved-decked-nosed (but holes for front emblem only bondo not welded because the emblem is cool but was missing and I figured I could knock the bondo out and add one when I found a nice one)-satin black and metallic red paint outside-satin black on dash-dash perfect (chrome is like brand mew) and gauges fully operational aside from fuel gauge due to fuel cell-floor fiberglassed-"new" but home made door panels and rear interior quarter panels-will include matching fabric to have headliner made (have all headliner bows)-only rust is in lower rockers, all else repaired-Speedway round poly fuel cell in trunk with aluminum line-complete carb to drain plug, flywheel to generator 235 included with all trim on engine stand (if wanted)-extra clutch as well as a pile of other parts in trunk-radiator like new (obvious replacement)-good radial tires on red and white steel wheels-can include new brake hoses and wheel cylinder rebuild kits if wanted-have clear MD title..no funny stuff..car has valid tags and insurance-looks just as cool in person as in the pictures The bad:-one of the afore mentioned engines (included) or maybe a v8 (not included) must be installed as the 216 in it is cracked-exhaust it cut for removal (not really sure that is such a bad thing but I will list it as bad anyway)-needs headliner (or not)-needs carpet (or not)-LH windshield has a crack-brake pedal went to the floor when I stepped on it today, likely just a steel line rusted-front turn lamps removed but included-paint does have some chips and such from being almost daily driven-neither my body work or interior work is perfect as I am a professional mechanic but novice body and trim man, however I do think my paint work came out pretty good. No runs, orange peel or fish eyes in the black although the red did not turn out quite so well due to the complications created by the flake in a clear with a dulling agent but still looks pretty good. (Should have put on like 4 more coats the wet sanded it.)-my tinting skills suck ***the picture of the RH side from the rear has a sun glare line on the quarter...I couldn't get a picture without it...that is not something on the car*** Will need to be towed but is very easily accessible.
