Vehicle Detail
For your consideration. a 1967 Austin Healey Sprite, red with black & tan interior. I purchased the car from another Austin Healey Club member who passed away, and I have been using it while my BJ8 was being restored (red of course). The car was well sorted-out when I purchased it, and I have spent considerable time & money to make the car is a reliable driver. I recently installed a cooling fan forward of the radiator, which was removed & sent to a shop to clean out about a year ago, and recently spent another $653.00 to have the car tuned, & the wiring in the engine bay wired to the correct color code, all soldered joints & connections, and a fan switch installed on the dashboard to use if sitting in traffic or stuck in one of our famous I-5 traffic jams. The voltage regulator & generator were also replaced at this time. The seats are from another British car, taller with more support for my old back, the interior looks nice, but needs cosmetic work, some rips in the door panels, (see photos) needs piping around driver's door replaced, but overall, very good. I want the new owner of this car to be happy with it but any older British car has some detail issues, and it not my wish to hide anything, I just want you to enjoy the car as much as I do. The car gets lots of "thumbs up" from other drivers, and it never fails to attract admirers when I park it. The car was painted, but needs color-sanding & buffing to look it's best, something the previous owner did not have time to finish. Tires are almost new, includes new spare, the roll bar adds an extra bit of safety, although the convertible top will not close all the way with the bar in. Hey, it's made for open air driving anyway, and the car handles like it was on rails. Forget the top!! I was told that the engine has been gone through, and the 1275cc motor sounds great & runs smooth, car stops, starts, & drives with no fuss. Everything (wipers, lights, horn, turn indicator) works and my mechanic at British Connection in Long Beach, CA just took the car for two days and fifty miles and reported no problems. If you like, have a mechanic come to my house and check out the car before you buy it, and I hope you enjoy the car as much as I have. Cheers! Robert
