1957 CHEVY BEL AIR CONVERTIBLE PROJECT CAR THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION - SELLING TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER Here is a listing for the true "American Icon" to classic car investors - the 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible. Thank you for looking and taking a test drive into a unique opportunity to own and restore this survivor. This classic was recently purchased from the previous PA owner. He owned the car for approx. 35 years and stored it properly. I have inventoried the car and related parts to the best of my ability. My goal was to try to make the car as complete as possible. I feel comfortable knowing that the car is now mostly complete with especially the "convertible only parts" being intact. As shown in the photos, there are 3 pieces of front windshield stainless missing - driver and passenger outside corners along with the upper header. It is my intention to purchase these pieces and make the set complete. Unfortunately, the car no longer has the original V-8 drivetrain and is being sold this way. If the purchaser prefers staying with a stock drivetrain, I have available a correct 1957, 283 cubic inch V-8 and powerglide transmission ready for rebuilding. UNDERCARRIAGE: The car is on it's rolling chassis with operational steering, brakes, and emergency brake. The stock front and rear suspension is intact as well. The main frame and X-member are in good order. The drivers skid plate has a small area to repair along the back few inches which is a typical condition. BODY: As shown in the photos, there have been some previous floor and rocker repairs that need to be finished. Also, there are some additional sheet metal parts included for your use. The driver side quarter panel needs a repair ahead of the wheel opening down at the rocker area. The passenger side quarter panel was previously cut for unknown reason and has a repair panel included to complete the repair. Otherwise, both quarters are really nice. FENDERS: Both fenders have had previous repairs to the lower area and will need to be redone. The inner braces seem fine and otherwise they appear solid and straight. DOORS: Both doors will need repairs to the lower sill and outer skin areas. I suggest new sills and skins to be applied. One door is intact and the other apart. HOOD: The hood has a few small areas of filler that I sanded and found only slight dimple repairs. The underside is nice and clean. TRUNK: The trunk will need typical repairs to the inner wheel wells, floor area, and tail pan. The spare tire well is in good shape. NOTE: PICTURES WILL SUPPORT THE INFORMATION ABOVE.
