34MPG!!!! This is a beautiful ride. If you are in the market for an SUV/VAN, you can not pass on the car like handling of this top of the line Chevy Venture. 8 years ago it sold for over $35,000. The exterior is a nice burgundy/red. The paint is lustrous and shinny. As with any vehicle, it has its dings and scratches with the worst being a keying on the passenger side of about two feet long -- not deep but noticeable when up close. Alloy wheels. Adjustable roof rack. Overall the exterior is excellent. The interior is gorgeous. Two-tone gray leather that appears to be brand new. Eight passenger seating: yeas I said it eight!! Upgraded, premium, CD/Tape stereo with the center of this exclusive entertainment package, a flip down, DVD. The Chevy Venture has an extraordinary history of outstanding customer satisfaction. If you don't believe me try to find a Venture on carmax.com of the over 1,000,000 vehicles they have rotate in and out of their store -- they as of 2 days ago had not a single Venture!! Now the bare truth -- the good, bad and the ugly. Ugly:I listed this vehicle on craigslist and eBay classified 3 days ago and 2 days ago in a nasty snow storm my battery died and I had the hood up on the side of a road and three huge dump trucks with snow plows soared by and the wake of their wind slammed the hood into my windshield. I have it at a Chevy top of the line body shop today to replace the windshield and to do some cosmetic/make pretty with the hood and front grill. The hood had zero damage but the grill got dislodged. Bad: 1. The fuel gauge does not work but on the overhead control console, along with outside temp, average and instant mileage, trip -- there is a digital record of the gas used after each re-fill2. The carpet could use a cleaning -- the driver and the passenger have no floor mat, the middle seat has a runner.3. The rear wiper does not work.4. The rear latch needs its pistons replaced to keep the latch up. I priced these out at $40 a pair. I will try to get this done but may not have the time here before xmas. Good:1. This vehicle looks and feels brand new.2. Brand new tires3. Recent oil change.4. Antifreeze tested to -40 degrees5. Brand new battery for winter, installed yesterday6. Folks if you want a great, long life, family, entertaining, road trip master this is the one!! I am only selling it because my wife now wants an 7-passenger SUV. I love the vehicle but she drives it everyday. Could it be that the Venture has such of history of customer satisfaction and shear delight that no one, not even one is willing to part with this vehicle -- WOW!! I am also listing this in eBay and do not expect it to last past the 3 day auction so act quick -- my eBay reserve or the least I will accept is $4995 but I expect it to sell between $5000 to $6200 (current retail). On Dec-18-10 at 09:10:24 PST, seller added the following information: Update: the body shop work and windshield repair went very good -- vehicle is in back to new condition...the only thing I was disappointed with is that the hood does have a spot where it looks like someone sat on it too hard -- nothing major but a minor wave -- I am just pick about stuff like that. Additionally: I did some extensive road testing on MPG which is a major issue for everyone these days. The Venture has a great rep for outstanding MPG for a Van. Listen to this -- I know it may sound to good to be true but it is: I GOT 34MPG ON THE HIGHWAY AND 24 IN THE CITY -- PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT HONDA ACCORD AND TOYOTA CORROLLA AND CAMRY -- BETTER MILEAGE THAN MOST HIBRIDS. One caveat -- I drove at or below the speed limit -- you can not expect good mpg with a lead foot.
